Ummm Buenvista is apart of Disney & Miramax.
So the fact that they are releasing an unrated dvd is strange. Of course, what if it is a gimmick & this unrated version is & never was NC-17 worthy?
Then again, what previous few directors cuts they have released like Heavenly Creatures. They got rerated. So this 'may' be good news.
I would love for an unrated 16.9 Scream to be released on dvd. The R version has a shitty soundmix compared to the great loud as hell frightening intense original mix as on the unrated dvd.

I'll gladly take the 2 more minutes of lauren graham.
But this "unrated" as julie would suggest is nothing more than a Unrated version of a film that never was NC-17 worthy and could fall under the "Gimmick Unrated" group of dvd's that have graced dvd shelves in the past as a marketing ploy.

The releases date is 6-22
I understand the whole "Gimmick-Rated" releases, but My Boss' Daughter (A Disney Sub-Studio Release) was called "The R-Rated Edition" instead of "Unrated Edition" and if any movie would have made sense being called Unrated it's a stupid Teen Sex Comedy (I believe that genre invented the concept)

For what it's worth http://www.filmratings.com lists the following:
Bad Santa - The Director's Cut (2004)
Buena Vista Home Entertainment
R Rated R for pervasive language, strong sexual content and some violence.

DVD Empire is listing both.

Interesting. I guess it is a very good question on wheter there is going to be an unrated edition.

Buena Vista is closer in Disney name than Miramax, so they wouldn't release an NC-17 or Unrated cut.
One thing about the DVD, don't expect a lot of extras. They actually fired the director Terry Zwigoff and brought in Todd Phillips (of OLD SCHOOL) to shoot the ending. Zwigoff wasn't too happy working on the film.

Yes, and so is touchstone, so is ESPN, and so is ABC. Disney owns a lot. they like to keep the names apart for a reason.

To call My Boss' Daughter "unrated" would be a lie.
Unrated versions are not submitted to the MPAA, therefore truly "unrated"
It's not a gimmick if they chose one or the other, but actually a description of the process that film version went through.

Looks like the release is unrated... and with a stupid title. I'll still pick this up though.
