And the last poster too, I'm guessing.
Who?
Who?
Count me among the envious. What was he like in-person? He had such a likable on-screen persona.

Loved his work in Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, The Jayhawkers, The Great Locomotive Chase, Old Yeller, and Hell is for Heroes.

For those who don't know who he is, for a brief period in the mid-50's he was the hottest thing going. Every kid in America wanted a coonskinned cap so they could be Davy Crockett. I wasn't actually around back then but that's my understanding of how it was.

Me too. That signed tin looks great.
Very cool! For me, Fess Parker will always be Daniel Boone since I grew up with that TV show but it has been maybe 25 years since I've seen a rerun of the show! Just checked epguides.com and the Daniel Boone show ran 165 hour long shows on NBC!
Don't forget THEM!

I love him as Davy Crockett. He's always seemed like a down to earth guy who never got carried away by fad fame (something that most of today's reality TV "celebs" could learn something from)

And he makes great wine.
Awesome
Green with envy. You lucky sonofagun.
You should've stole the coonskin cap. He's around 80, right? It would've been easy! Like taking candy from a baby!

He's a really great guy. I also shook his hand and thanked him. It's so depressing to see him at 80 years old.

Also, this isn't the tin but the DVD cover.
That's perhaps the coolest thing I've read in the last few days.
Congrats!! - Count me in among the envious ones!

Hmmm . . . I guess there's only six more deadly sins left for me.
Oh well . . . I've got the rest of April yet.

Once again, VERY cool!! - Congrats!!

Try not to think of it that way. So many great film stars - Errol Flynn, Gary Cooper, Clark Gable, Tyrone Power, Steve McQueen, Lou Costello, Laurence Harvey, Jeff Chandler, and more - passed away at far too young an age. Fess Parker on the other hand seems to have done fairly well for himself and seems to have lead an active and fulfilling life even after Hollywood. You're really lucky to have met him.

Good God man......you shook hands with Davy Crockett!!!

I don't know what I'd do if I ever got the chance to meet any of the greats that are still around such as Richard Widmark, Kirk Douglas, Glenn Ford, or Tony Curtis (he sure has some stories to tell).

Good one!
wow I wasn't expecting all that positive feedback thanks.

Yea it was fun. Most people there were old. There were a few younger people though. I must have been the youngest one hehe.
Let me add my congratulations. There was an article about Mr. Parker in last week's USA Today so this was a very timely post.

He is an icon.
That's awesome.

Stuff like that doesn't happen too often.

I guess I didn't look closely enough. I take it back, that looks like crap.
