A "Which DVD's would YOU save" thread with a twist
Inspired by an off-hand comment from the "Burn Down Your House" thread, I thought I'd pose this question:
So lets say that you and your DVD collection have won the NASA "Take a DVD Geek into Space" contest. So on the next space shuttle launch, you get a round trip ticket into The Final Frontier.
While in orbit, one of the heat resistant tiles on the shuttle comes loose. NASA scientists calculate that everyone on the shuttle will die unless they replace the tile. Strangely enough the chemical composition of DVDs makes them the perfect suitable replacement material. Five of them should just about fit in the empty space and provide enough heat resistance to get home.
So - five of your discs must be destroyed to save yourself (and the rest of your DVDs), the astronauts and the shuttle? Which of your babies must die so that the others may live?

I would like to have some memorable films saving life instead of the least memorable DVDs...

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
That's easy:
Stepmom
Lost in Space (90s version)
Six Days, Seven Nights
Stargate (flipper)
Lethal Weapon 4
Interestingly enough, all 5 discs came free with my first player.

I knew I had those five copies of Sophie's Choice for a reason.
Amazing how many scenarios are made to ask basically the same question, yet the scenarios are so extreme that DVDs would be far from mind.
Your house is burning, never mind your own life or others, which DVDs?
You've been the victim of arson, yet your primary concern is to replace DVDs.
You're on a deserted island, yet you have the capacity to play DVDs.
You get to go into space, yet you decide to bring your DVD collection.
How about this? You're Edward G. Robinson in Soylent Green. What DVDs to you choose for your final moments?

So if Edward G. Robinson was launched into space after setting fire to your house, what DVD's would he take?
(pssst - the whole thing is a joke anyway. Dont take it so seriously!)

Five copies of Airplane 2. They would finally serve a good purpose.
