I'm waiting for the box set, but WB & Silver had better get those darned Wachowskis to contribute this time. The bros simply haven't earned this absurd level of Kubrickian isolation yet. In light of the negative responses to the sequels, it's time for them to show their faces and explain themselves!

Com'on, who's with me??

The best sets of this will probably come out in other countries and I'll probably end up buying the Korean set... I anticipate the main differences being the packaging.

I just hope that the original is re-released (with a new transfer) by itself. I have Reloaded and plan to get Revolutions, but I sold the original in anticipation of the SE that was supposed to come out last year. I don't need all those extras, just good transfers and sound.

All the SE was was the original release and revisited in one.

The first one gets a new transfer and the sequels get some explanation....I'm in. I am hoping this set comes out before Christmas.

Woow!!

I was expecting this set for a long time!!!

This trilogy HAS to have DTS tracks (or even DTS-ES !!)

Anyways…I will get this one whatever is in the set…

I haven’t bought any of the movies because I was anticipating a trilogy release!!!

What to do what to do. Wait or by them now. Having DTS would be the kicker but the DD tracks aren't that bad.

The DD tracks are perfectly fine with me...the DD track on Reloaded blows away just about every other disc I have...

Though most people are for DTS, as am I, the DD tracks on reloaded were kick-ass. I just hope that the transfer and DD tracks on Revolutions are the same and that they do this with the first movie which has a crappy transfer. Unfortunately, I will be double dipping on this one. Can't wait!

People, there will NOT BE a DTS soundtrack! This is, and always was, a Warner release. The DD on Reloaded is awesome anyways, so I could not care less about a DTS track.

What I want is a sperate re-release of The Matrix with a new transfer. I will NOT double-dip on Reloaded and Revolutions

I think it'll be a more conservative list with about 7 or 8 discs at most. 6 discs for the movies and extras for each similar to the Alien Quadrilogy set, and 1 or 2 more discs for the Animatrix and any video game stuff.
9 is too many? How about 10?

If the "new cut" of Reloaded is to be in the set, I really hope they use seamless branching for it.

It's not a threadcrap. Of those movies, you are talking about the releases before WB decided to STOP doing DTS tracks. And the others are Morgan Creek. WB doesn't decide on the DTS tracks for them.

Not a threadcrap but the truth.
I missed this, but thanks for backing me up on this. WB doesn't do DTS anymore is a fact. It is not a threadcrap at all.

Hmmm. I was planning on getting the first release of all of these on HD-DVD (individually or box set) since I already have the first two movies (still waiting for CH to have free shipping to get Revolutions) and The Animatrix. But a 9-10 disc box set is certainly tempting. I'll wait till the final R1 specs, but even as impressive as this is, it's still 90% that I'll just wait till HD-DVD to rebuy this stuff.

I wonder if they will release the first film special edition by itself?

With HD-DVD coming next year and the fact I already have Matrix 1-3 and The Animatrix it's really hard to justify it unless theres some sort of rebate for owners of the already released stuff.

Can the footage from Enter the Matrix even be integrated into Reloaded and make sense? A lot of that stuff was jsut filler that wouldn't even jive without the (horrid) game.

I mean I want to see the footage but of the stuff I've seen I'm not sure how it'll fit at all.

Anyone have a clue?

I hope so. Otherwise, in the boxset they should include a bonus disc of the Wachowskis apologizing for Reloaded and Revolutions for two hours.

hopefully the sound is remixed on reloaded and revolutions. the effects sound tinny, are too low, and with out the lfe, the sound sucks big time.

Huh? If anything, people say that these two releases have amazing sound. And you say without the LFE? Are you crazy? There are several times within those movies that my subs distort. (I've got a bad left sub that flutters at certain frequencies.)
