Matrix Box Set!

Further Details
We’ve just received word that work has already begun on material for the upcoming Matrix boxed set. While it’s still too early to speculate about the exact contents of the set, we do know that it will include “detailed documentaries on the philosophy and science behind the Matrix scripts as well as a look at the history of action cinema.” Apparently we can also expect a “densely layered documentary package estimated at nine total hours using footage that has not been seen in the other Matrix releases.” No word yet as to the level of involvement from the Wachowski brothers, but hopefully we’ll get commentary tracks at the very least. I don’t know about you, but with over nine hours of bonus material on offer I can’t wait for this one! Our thanks go to reader Peter Petrovski for bringing this to our attention.
--------------------

Please...a new transfer for Matrix and DTS.

Finally some documentary on something other than ...b...p...d...q... (that's a pretty sad representation of bullet-time, was supposed to be the letter revolving. Oh well, maybe somebody else with a sad sense of humor will get it.)

Don't count on DTS, it's Warner Bros.

It's not a threadcrap. Of those movies, you are talking about the releases before WB decided to STOP doing DTS tracks. And the others are Morgan Creek. WB doesn't decide on the DTS tracks for them.

Not a threadcrap but the truth.

That's quite a nice long liberal list. But I can't see it being a 9 disc set for a trilogy. I think it'll be a more conservative list with about 7 or 8 discs at most. 6 discs for the movies and extras for each similar to the Alien Quadrilogy set, and 1 or 2 more discs for the Animatrix and any video game stuff.

By the time it's done, the LOTR Trilogy "boxed set" will end up having 21-discs worth of content for a single trilogy:

2-disc release for the TE (with unique extras) x 3 = 6 discs

+

4-disc release for the EE (with unique extras) x 3 = 12 discs

+

A single "extras" disc available with each of the gift set (assuming the ROTK follows the precedent) x 3 = 3 discs

=

21 discs for a single trilogy.

Great news about the Matrix. Sadly, i'll probably pick up Revolutions in April and then double dip for the whole set when it comes out.

I'm really looking forward to a Matrix trilogy boxset. Here's hoping it arrives this year.

agreed. I held off on buying any of the Matrix DVDs in hope of a box set. Looks like that wish will come true.
