What's the deal with Chappell's Show??

I've looked and called all over my area and no one has Chappell's show. Is it just sold out or is there some sort of issue with it? Anyone know where I could find it in Central NJ?

How about ordering from Amazon or DeepDiscountDVD? Also, have you gone to BestBuy.com and looked for local stores that have it in stock?

From my understanding they didn't expect that this set would sell nearly as well as it did and didn't press enough initially. I was able to pick mine up during it's release week (northern NJ). I haven't seen any around now, but I also haven't been looking for it.

I would expect in a few weeks time the stores will all have too many copies of it and it won't move off the shelves.

Each of the three Best Buys I have been to in DC and VA have had upwards of 10-20 on the shelves. Heck, right now I myself have two!

Its in Best Buy's ad this week, so if you can't find it, just get a raincheck for it

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll do just that.

Bestbuy does not do rainchecks. I've tried.

(Can I get a raincheck on an out-of-stock item?

BestBuy.com does not offer rainchecks for products sold online.

Best Buy retail stores may offer rainchecks when advertised products are out of stock. This practice will vary by product and situation, and limited quantities or other circumstances may make a raincheck unavailable)

So I guess if possible, a raincheck sounds like a good idea. I'm hoping to pick this up as well soon.

I've actually gotten a rain check on something before. The girl was actually very nice about it to me but said I would be the last one she'd be doing this for.

Guess I just have to find the right person at BB and see what happens.

I was in the middle of getting a rain check once and a manager came over and went off on the saleskid for giving me a rain check. He then told the worker to sell me a similar item for the sale price. It was DVD+Rs or CD-Rs can't remember which. Of course it was more of a hassle for the salesguy to try and explain the switch to the cashier.

I canceled my order from Amazon because they were out and going to take a few weeks to get it in. I figured I could live without it and I'd just get something else.

Imagine my surprise when I found the DVD at my local Wal-Mart. I was sure it had been mentioned that they would not be getting the DVD. My wife, who works at Wal-Mart, even asked a manager in the electronics dept. if they would be getting the DVD and she said no. I'm not sure where the mistake happened but it did and I was finally able to get this set.

It took me a month to find it. All circuit cities and best buys in my area were sold out, as well as Borders books, Fred Meyer, etc. All the regular places I go. I finally found it at a wharehouse music.

That must be your Best Buy. I got a raincheck last week, and do frequently. Heck, they have the raincheck box on the sales floor itself for some items!

This is a great collection, and it being uncensored with all the cursing is great.

Best Buy is Skokie has exhausted all of their Chappelle's Show DVDs as well, but I got the impression that they understocked (the shelf looked like there was 5-10 copies, whereas the other Best Buy in Evanston had about 25 copies in stock).

A good place to try is Blockbuster Video. I bought mine for $21.95 about a week ago. They had 1 copy.

It was very hard to find around release day (I got the last copy in the city at a Wal-Mart), but I have seen it at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and a few others stores recently.

Same here I got mine last Friday, and it looks like they're re-stocked.

My local Best Buys usually get 6-10 on Tues. or Wed. and they're gone by Fri. Show's exactly how big Dave and the show is...

Took me about 3 weeks to get this. My Best Buy eventually got a lot in stock.

Is this a good buy? The price seems great, I mean $19.99 for 12 episodes. I've seen a couple skits (the Wu-Tang one, and the Crack head guy). Does this set include the "I'm Rick James, bitch!" skit on it?

after trying 4 Best Buy's, 2 Targets, a Circuit City, and a Suncoast, my wife finally called Wal-Mart. they had one copy left and agreed to hold it for us. she went over there to get it while i was working late, so FINALLY i've got my hands on a copy.
