2 dvd's for tonight only time for 1, which to watch?

I have both 13 and once upon a time in mexico but only have time for one. I have my brothers wedding tomorrow so the one I don't watch will probably wait till next week. Can I get a few recomendations on which to watch tonight. I know they are completely different types of movies, I just asking which people enjoyed more.

Will agree on this. Though, I haven't seen Once Upon a Time in Mexico so I can't comment on the quality of that flick. Thirteen is very after-school special, you probably will have to be in the right mood to enjoy it.

Well, I'm gonna have to disagree with the above opinions of Thirteen. I "enjoyed" it quite a bit. The three main actresses (particularly Holly Hunter) did a very good job and the film is (regretfully) fairly accurate to the life of some teens these days. I am a little biased in that I work with teens so it is a little more personal to me, but still, I thought it was a good film. The best way that I can think to describe it is a Larry Clark film that is much closer to the lives of the average teen.

As for Once Upon A Time In Mexico, I haven't seen it, so I can't really help there.

Well, I have seen both. Didn't care of 13...OUATIM wasn't bad. Out of the two, goes with the Depp flick.

Watch Once Upon A Time In Mexico. My friend bought 13 and said it was juvenile in appeal. So, go with Banderas and guns.

Personally I'd find something else to watch Between the two though I'd do OUATIM

I'd wait until I saw El Mariachi and Desperado somewhat recently before watching Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

Thirteen is a great flick.

I will agree Holly Hunter did a good job in the movie. My problem with the movie isn't an accuracy issue, because at 13 I was doing worse stuff, so I know that this goes on. Maybe it is more closer to the suburban teen, but Larry Clark definitely captures the urban teenage lifestyle better IMO, Kids for instance shows real teen life (as I knew it) better than Thirteen. My complaint with Thirteen is the camerawork mainly. It is just too cheesy and after school special for my blood... I am equating that too the "teeny-bopper" line in the second post.

Oops, going a little off topic there....

I understand what you mean . . . not the best in that area. Of course, I just appreciate the fact that you've actually seen the movie and are posting comments based on that fact, rather than relying merely what you've heard about it (sorry . . . mini-rant ).

No to go completely off topic . . . your sig literally made me laugh out loud. We mention Danol often enough around here, but that's not the same as actually reading his words.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico. It isn't as good as Desperado or El Mariachi but Depp steals the show once again. I don't really care for Depp's past political statements but he is really one of my favorite actors. Fear and Loathing, Pirates, OUATIM, etc.... would be average movies without him.

I don't really care for 13. It's just not my type of movie.
