That and danol never worried about the packaging, he had plenty of extra cases from the dumpster...

"Ignorant people should be ****ing shot."

I guess somebody very, very, very high up must have told you about this new technology two years before it was announced if you've been waiting for this particular DVD for 11 years already. It's really a minor point, but it does raise the question of credibility.

Didn't the first DVDs hit the shelves in the spring of 1997, not 1996? Either way, the format has been publically available for six or seven years, not 11, so I'm calling "bullshit" too.

Lemme tell ya...this nova guy is amazing. Not only does he have a friend very, very, VERY high up at Universal...he's also bought a copy The Killer:CC for ONLY 7.95 at Coconuts. Then he posted it in a thread where it didn't belong. Not only that, he made bullshit waves about Schindler's List being recalled. Great start, man. Keep up the excellent work!!

I wouldn't call you a bad guy, but you can certainly be insensitive at times.

Dang, and I meant it as a compliment.

So any word on a recall/replacement discs for SL?

The Digital Bits usually has info on recalls, but nothing there about it.

Maybe Geoff can find out if it's for real or not.

I seriously doubt a recall will happen but the gift set from my experience sure derserves it. I preordered the gift set from Amazon and the first one arrived with a cracked case. Sent it back for a replacement set and it arrives today also with a broken case. I'm not even going to bother trying again for the third time. I called customer service this afternoon and informed them that the second gift set arrived damaged, and prefer to return it for a refund. I will probably get the widescreen DVD instead when it becomes an enrollment at Columbia House in a few months.

I have a friend very, very, very, very, very low in the DVD food chain, and he said that Schindler's List would not be recalled.

I watched the movie all the way through with no problems, well except for the horror of what the Nazi's did in WWII.

THOSE WHO DO NOT LEARN FROM HISTORY ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT.

Yeah, like the ones where he threatened me with violence.

I'd be perturbed... but he was threatening to run me over with his motorized wheelchair...

I will be of a dissenting voice and say that I don't think the packaging is that bad. A fair bit slimmer and more compact than the average amaray/alpha case, and sturdier than the snappers. If all DVD cases were in this form, I could probably squeeze another 50-100 DVD's in my storage cabinets. Obviously, it doesn't have the long-term durability of the plastic cases, or match the aesthetics of the other styles, but it would have been nice to have more compact styled packaging like this all along.
