The previous LD of Zorba was 1.33:1, so that might be the OAR of the film.
Jean Brodie is a flat film, but it's possible that it's 1.33:1 as well.
Fox is extremely good about keeping OAR for films, so I don't see why they'd make these two films pan & scan for DVD.

Yeah, a few months ago I was asking what the OAR on Zorba is... because I wanted to transfer my LD to DVD... nobody knew, either here or at HTF... so lest anyone can talk to Michael Cacoyannis or his agent (anyone here registered with these extra services at IMDB?) we`ll have to trust FOX on this issue.

I believe that Zorba The Greek was filmed in 1:33:1 and that this is the correct aspect ratio. The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie is an open matte release as far as I know. It was shown at 1:85:1 in theaters.

DavisDVD has posted a correction:
"20th Century Fox's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie will be released with a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Despite our best efforts to officially confirm Zorba the Greek's video specs, it looks like it will be presented in its correct 1.33:1 aspect ratio with a new fullscreen transfer."
