Dawn of the Dead Sequel Trivia

OK, we all know the Dawn of the Dead remake hits this weekend. My question is, is this film historic for being the first Hollywood remake of a sequel? Can anybody think of another time where a sequel has been remade? I think this may be the first time Hollywood has remade a sequel, can anyone site another instance? And don't site Never Say Never Again, that doesn't count.

I personally don't consider dawn a "sequel", for a bunch of reasons I am sure someone else will post about (I am lazy)

Why doesn't Never Say Never Again count? That's a perfect example!

And Dawn of the Dead is most certainly a sequel.

Anyway, The Bride of Frankenstein has been remade as The Bride, with another remake currently in the works.

Father of the Bride, Part II, with Steve Martin, is a remake of Father's Little Dividend, the sequel to the original Father of the Bride, with Spencer Tracy.

I know its not Hollywood but Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974-one of the many original sequels) was remade twice first in 1993 and again in 2002.

Correct you are, sir. Toho continuously brings back the popular opponents to face Godzilla, frankly to the point of overkill.

MechaG has been in five movies (it would have been six but they decided to go with Moguera in Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla.
