They are now airing the 15th season, and in the last 3 years, only released 3 season on DVD. So, if my calculations are right, we will not see thee 15th season on DVD before 2015. By then, HD-DVD will be out, or even a better format and we will have to buy it again in that format. Now come on FOX, if Paramount can release all 24 season of Star Trek in 3 years ( ST: OS, ST: TNG, ST: DS9, ST: V) you can release at least more season's of Simpsons per year. You'll make more money now, and still make money in 2015 by re-releasing them in a new format.
well i can't speak for the Star Trek releases, but you have to realize that the people involved in the DVDs, Groening and the like still work on the show and are very busy just making the current Simpsons.. if the show was over i'm sure they'd have more free time to do commentaries and crank out the DVD sets but they work full time on the show so it's understandable that they can't put them out every 3 months.. i'd love for it to go faster too, but i realize they don't have all the time in the world for the DVDs.

I think saying "this is where it gets funny" isn't the correct phrase. What most probably mean is that with each passing season, it continued to get better. The first two seasons were solid, but not usually "ha-ha" funny. Season three was the first to be like that (for me, anyway) and these next few seasons are going to be fantastic, as this is when I started to watch the show on TV.

And I love the packaging. I can't wait to get my grubby hands on this set.

It's Snowball II chewing on an electrical cable and getting electrocuted. It's just a throwaway visual joke (one that isn't particularly funny, but who's complaining?)

I think the show got funny at the start and stayed that way to the present -- season 15 was one of the best, IMO. Sure, it has had ups and downs, but every year was worthwhile, IMO, and will be a great DVD set. If Fox would only get 'em out faster...

Hey everyone, I'm the person who took those pictures on DVDFile, glad you like them. Commentary by Conan is not to be missed.

Best Buy.com has got S4 for 29.99 + free shipping.
I'm not sure if that's just a pre-order price or not. I hope it's a release-week, because I have a 10.50 coupon I want to use at the B&M.
31.39 at Deep Discount, which could be cheaper depending on your tax rate.
BB also has a promo where if you buy another Fox TV box set [choose from Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, Shield], ten bucks off.

$31.49 from Buy.com with free shipping. That's a few cents cheaper than BestBuy.com for me since there's no tax with Buy.com, and Buy ships a lot faster than Best Buy. I just got mine today!

Yeah, probably not before next April.

Damn, this is one enjoyable season. I really liked the little intro from Matt, too. Nice touch.

I hope they have another season out before the end of the year. At this rate we'll never catch up with the broadcast season.

Matt Groening said it took so long getting season 4 out as they did commentary for each episode. He also says they are working on more but didn't have a time frame.

The wait is worth it. I got every single episode on VHS. A DVD set wouldn't mean anything to me unless it had the commentaries.

What about the fact that DVD's outlast VHS tapes, or the fact that they have crisp 5.1 surround sound or an unpassable quality?

I've seen each episode at least a half a dozen times. I could wait.

I also have a stand alone burner and can burn them to DVD anytime I want.

Commentaries mean everything to me on these things!
