Black Hawk Down DELUXE Edition

I am a big fan of the film Black Hawk Down and I already own the bare bones single disc. I was visiting my brand new Circuit City and saw the Deluxe Edition and was tempted to buy it. But is it worth the double dip? It is 30 bucks and there might be a sale down the road, but somehow I doubt it. Should I go for it or what? Any suggestions?

Absolutely yes. Improved video and sound and loads of extras. Considering the bare bones release has nothing, you should do it. It's demo quality.

My answer is a resounding yes. This is one of my favorite films also. I held off on the bare-bones release because I knew this version was coming. It was more than worth the wait. I haven't listened to the commentaries but the other extras kick ass. I've seen the documentaries a couple times. They were very insightful and informative. $30 sounds like the average retail price but I'm sure you could find it cheaper online.

I have a job that pays 7.00 dollars an hour. I juts got paid. I am going to a concer Saturday. I need to save (have about 1000 in the bank) for a car to buy in August. This is 30 bucks...still think I should get it? I am trying to get one or 2 DVDs every check and yet it seems I can't save and I really want movies. Everytime I buy a film, my parents are like: ANOTHER MOVIE! But I'm like meh! Oh well, I think I'll get it when I go out a bit later.

LOL - gotta have priorities man. Spend wisely. Got a b-day or anything soon? You could do a lot worse with your $30 thats for sure.

Perhaps they'll be some sales on it when Matchstick Men arrives. Seems like a lot of times a stars or directors other films will be on sale when a new one comes out.

I actually havent been able to watch the doc yet (2.5 hrs right?) I reeeally want to, just havent been able to find the time... is it a lot of interviews or a lot of on-set footage? Or a lot of both?

The Deluxe Edition is worth it just for having the original sub-titles vs. the ugly player generated ones on the regular edition.

The extras are more than one could ever want.

Overall, great package.

I am going to see AFI in San Bernadino. And I think I want to get this DVD anyway. 30 bucks? That means only can BUY ONE DVD this paycheck, or wait, CC has some titles I want for 10 bucks like The Hunted or something. Sweet. Make it two to go.

AFI? meh.... now if it was Mushroomhead or Mudvayne, you may have had me sold. No offense intended, just not much a fan. I'd go for the DVD, it'll last longer.

Yes, absolutly pick this one up, especially if you're a big fan of the movie. I had the original release and I sold it off to a friend for pretty cheap a few weeks before the Deluxe Edition came out. It's a great set.

Instead of paying $30 for it, pay $23 for the Superbit. It is Region 3 but, as has been mentioned serveral times, Region 3 Superbits will play in ALL Region 1 players.

Dude, stop buying DVDs! Save your money. When your car breaks down and you need to have it repaired, you'll be missing the $1500 per year that you've been spending on DVDs.

If you have to work for 5 hours to afford a DVD, I say forget it!

How about you sell your barebones copy for what you can get for it, then put that to your BHD: Deluxe fund?

I don't have the BHD Superbit (yet) but from what I heard, the DTS sound is fantastic!

Is there any chance of R1 getting a superbit or are we going to get screwed on this one?
