Is wicker man OOP?

The theatrical cut, available outside the box set, is not out of print. The director's cut, available only in the limited box, is out of print, but I regularly see copies available at Best Buy, so I don't think it's that hard to find.
I also remember hearing about an R2 director's cut standalone disc.

you can still get it from amazon for $27 shipped.
But whatever happened to the R1 stand alone director's cut that Anchor Bay was supposed to release a year ago? that's what i've been patiently waiting for....

My local Best Buy (Baileys Crossroads) seems to get fresh stock of the wood box set in regularly. It's usually listed as $19.99 though I've also seen it for $20.99 and $21.99. It's well worth it, IMO.

If you're a fan of the film, it's worth searching for the region 2 Wicker Man box set from Warner Bros. U.K. Like the Anchor Bay edition, it features the theatrical and director's cut along with the same extras on the U.S. edition - however, as a bonus, there's a senitype still, commentary from Christopher Lee, Edward Woodward & director Robin Hardy, the original soundtrack to the movie, a reproduction of the film's ad slicks, and an offer for a free one sheet reprint of The Wicker Man poster. Box set was lmited to 5000 copies.

I was browsing my local indie used DVD store and came across a copy of the Wicker Man box but didn't pick it up just yet. Later, I checked Amazon.com to compare prices and noticed they have an "extended edition" due to be released September 14 2004. I couldn't find anything about it at the Anchor Bay site. Can anyone confirm that this is the full length director's cut that is the second disc of the OOP box set?

What a great movie! Saw it last week on TV and was pleasantly surprised. I'll wait until September to pick it up.
Wasn't there a rumor about a remake with Nicolas Cage?
Seems Hollywood is all out of ideas... Leave the good originals ALONE!!

Anchor Bay was going to release the extended cut of Wicker Man that was only available in the SE seperately (much like they did with Army of Darkness and Halloween) last July, but took it off of the schedule.
Also, the UK edition of the longer Wicker Man cut had a commentary (with Chris Lee) that wasn't on the American LE because it was recorded after its release. If AB does get around to putting out a new edition of the extended cut, hopefully it will have this commentary.

i talked to the anchor bay guy 1 year ago at a convention and asked about that release date (from last year) and he said there were no plans to release any more wicker man because there was just too much wicker man product out there. i asked because i was mainly interested in that commentary track.
but that was 1 year ago, maybe things have changed but i havent heard anything. unless the commentary will be on the next version, im happy with the box.

Well, they've only had two releases of "Wicker Man," so maybe they need to catch that title up with "Army of Darkness" and "Halloween."
Especially since it looks like they're losing most of their horror catalog to Blue Underground.

The Wickerman Wooden Boxes will never dry up, they seem to be everywhere and since they are apparently so limited its a bit odd, as loads of people seem to own them.
but its some of the most striking packaging ever made, and worth getting as the films a cracker too.
mine still stinks of burned wood! nice.
