2 dual-sided DVDs? Sounds like they don't want to put much effort and/or money into the packaging.

....but they don't mind charging $59.95 for a 2-disc set.

There are only 9 episodes. So as far as quality it should be pretty good. You have 4 sides to spread out those 9 episodes plus extras.

My guess would be Disc1, side A you have the 90 minute premier "Genesis." Then you have 1B and 2A each with 4 episodes, then 2B for extras.

I am wincing at the price though. That is HBO pricing there. Way to high. That is almost $7 an episode!

Oops. My bad. Thanks, Rob. I edited my original post...perhaps one of the mods would be so kind as to edit my Thread Title.

Thanks!

It would be nicer to have one-sided discs and the price is quite high but at least they are starting.

Maybe the specs and price will be revised before release if they listen to public opinion.

Oh boo hoo. You'll be able to find this on-line (and in release week) for 35-40 bucks. Full retail price is for suckers.

Wahoo!

This just made my day. Now I can scrap my project of transferring my VCR tapes to DVD. I guess I'll just do that for the Dungeons & Dragons animated show now. I don't think we'll be seeing that on DVD ever.

I'll wait until release day or a sale price before I pay full retail for this, but I will be getting it at some point.
Now I wonder if they already have plans to release all the episodes, or if they are using this release as a pilot for the rest of the series. It would be a shame if they didn't release the rest of them, although I'm sure it will sell well based on current demand. I just hope they release these faster than the simpsons.

Well sure, no one will pay $60. But one can get 22 episodes of Buffy for $35-$40.

They also come with artwork on the disc and... an insert.

Oh well, they know that many will buy it anyway and I will.

Yay!

Except for the price. And the fact that this is Universal we're talking about. I'm looking forward to fast-forwarding through 6 minutes of trailers before each episode.

But, yay!

Holy crapola! Twice in one day

That's a Region 2 release, I wonder if it'll see a R1 release, or I'll just have to buy a region free player one of these days.

Thanks for the info! Now i can just toss out all my old vids.

At 60 bucks, they better have every song from the original broadcasts intact and Universal better not release this with any sort of glitches(that includes forced trailers!!!).

Can't wait! I would pay just about anything for this set, although I wish it was 4 single-sided discs w/disc art instead. A bit more classy, IMO. I hope they don't skimp on the extras. I sent a long list of ideas to Ms. Pratt through the fansite, as did other fans, so I hope they took those suggestions into account. Also, I think the popularity of this release will kick-start those QL spinoffs/movies that are rumored.
