That's a Region 2 release, I wonder if it'll see a R1 release, or I'll just have to buy a region free player one of these days.
Thanks for the info! Now i can just toss out all my old vids.

(And if it makes you feel better, these are the same guys releasing the He-Man discs as of late. And They've done a bang up job with that 20 year old franchise. I expect that D&D will get the similar treatment).
Now back to your regularly scheduled QL drooling. . . .

Since it's only 9 episodes for 41$,how much are we gonna have to pay for 22 episodes for the next 3 seasons bout' 85-90$? Aren't Universal following the same pattern as Battlestar Galactica with the 2 sided flipper disks? Offtopic here but why is the limited edition of Battlestar Galactica $89.99 and the new edition sans the head just the normal box $107.98 on amazon and around the same price on other sites? Man Universal are really overpricing these tv shows!! What other shows has Universal released so far are what are the average prices they go for a complete season?
Thanks
Kolchak
Thanks

Ive watched the majority of episodes of Quantum Leap, and I never recall the font for "Quantum Leap" ever looking like that. I would have preferred the original font, black background and a smaller blue whatever you call it....but yeah I know that big studio releases arent going to be without someones head.

Finally! I guess that I am one of those that will take whatever I can get. There are still a few eps I never caught so I am stoked for this. Hopefully most places will have have it priced well below the MSRP. I hope there won't be much of a delay between seasons. How many seasons?

The price is still pretty ridiculous, though. Damned Universal!

I will buy regardless of price as well. But I'm with Kolchak. $60 for 9 eps. Roughly $7 an ep. So for a full season that works out to about: $160. Regardless of paying MSRP, that is at least $70 overpriced.
Oh, that is the same font it just seems to have a wave added to it.

From IGN
February 17, 2004 - Universal Home Video has announced that season one of the time travel TV series Quantum Leap will hit DVD on June 8 in a two-disc set for $59.98. The series starred Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell and ran from 1989 to 1993, with Bakula playing a time traveler stuck in a different time period in an attempt to get home.
The two disc set will come with deleted scenes, video documentary footage, mock movie footage and "unexposed footage," whatever that means.

"unexposed footage" is probably a fancy way of saying behind the scenes.

I thought it looked off too, but i guess not. I hold very little hope of this set being good. And that price is way too much. Sadly, i think this will be a pass for me.

I can live with the price, I just hope they don't go UP too much with the other seasons. Maybe they wanted to set a price precendent for the series... instead of selling season 1 for $30 and the other seasons for $60.

I'm guessing the future releases will be around the same price. Look at the releases of Voyager and TNG that only have 6 or 5 discs, but they still charged the same price as the other releases.
Not the same company, but HBO released some of the 2 disc sets of sex and the city for the same price as the 3 disc sets.
It amazes me that they do this, but it gives hope that the subsequent seasons of QL may be more reasonable.
Dissapointing that there are no commentaries, but I wasn't expecting them. Oh well.

Well, Leap is hitting the stores for pre-order. And all you "60 bucks is too much" people can clam up now. DDD has it for 38.99 and Amazon has it for 41.99 (less StL, of course).
40 bucks is pretty damn reasonable if you ask me.
