WWE:Mondat Night War:where?
I have just been on a journey through West Knoxville looking for the WWE DVD of Monday Night War. I first tried Borders, which said it was in stock according to its website, and only got attitude from one of its workers about how the website is unreliable.
So I tried Circuit City. Turns out they don't carry WWE DVDs at all. I then called Best Buy, and they not only didn't have it, it never even arrived!
What the hell is up with these retailers, WWE DVDs not high on their priority list?

For some reason, Canadian e-tailers have a release of 3/23. I know it came out Tuesday though in the states. The price that DVDsoon.com has for it is 9.23, but as I said, the release is in March.

You know, it just occurred to me that its 9:55 PM on Valentine's Day and we're talking about WWE DVDs.
The sad fact: I don't see anything bad about it!

I ordered from the Best Buy website, because I know from past experiences that I could never find WWE or ECW DVD releases on release date. I just got it in the mail yesterday and watched about half of it so far. Pretty good stuff on there.

Well, fianlly got it today, and well worth the wait.
It's actually kind of sad to look at though, as you realize that the lack of competition has made the top quality material of those years the stuff of memory. Even more tragic is the bit on the last Nitro where the superstars speak of how WCW would live on when in reality it mostly didn't.
Perhaps the most tragic is the fact that WCW's failure and ultimate death came from the refusal to push new talent in favor of the same guys over and over. Something the WWE is doing right now, and since there is no competition, doesn't really have to do. As a result, we are heading towards WM 20 with a main event in which McMahon's ne son in law, you know who it is, will retain a phoney baloney title.

I haven't been able to find it but there's good reason: much like the Flair set, this DVD's initial print has sold out and more are in the works as we speak. I'm sure they'll surface eventually. Speaking of the Flair DVD, although getting a copy the day it dropped, I still don't ever see it anywhere I go.

As a huge WCW fan, I'm looking forward to seeing this and WWE's slant on it. I wonder how "fair and balanced" they will be.
I never understood this... all my friends that watched WWF always told me WCW sucked because it was all the old guys and they didn't push the young guys, so I would give Raw a chance from time to time and all I ever saw was Austin vs Undertaker over and over and over again... yeah, WWF was so much better at pushing the younger talent.. NOT. meanwhile on Nitro I'm seeing Booker T, Goldberg, Raven, ect ect. with the exception of Jericho, Benoit and a few others almost every WCW star has seen thier career go right into the toilet when they moved to WWE.
sorry, I'm ranting... I just really liked WCW much much better than WWE

Raven was jobbed all of the time and given a stable of jobbers. They never won any matches and were even getting the best of Raven when they broke out of the Flock. Ravens only real claim to fame was a 24 hour US Title reign, and a forgettable Tag Team title reign with Saturn. WWE(F) didn't use him at all either.
Goldberg was actually a star WCW created. They did things right with him. Although he looked like an Austin clone.
Benoit had been with WCW for years, and didn't win a title until '99 when he and Malenko won the tag titles. I believe he came into the company around '95.
Jericho was never allowed to go past the TV title either. Of course Kevin Nash had a vendetta against Jericho.
WCW really didn't push talent. Hogan was their world champion for a long reign, but he would never defend the title.
I will agree that Vince didn't use the WCW guys correctly, but WCW didn't know how to use most of them either.
Crappy wrestlers like Lex Lugar were getting title shots, while wrestlers like Raven were wasting away in gimmicks such as the depressed rich boy.
So Vince didn't push them to the top, but WCW really didn't give a damn about them either.
