Flintstones Season 1 - Worth Buying?

I was considering buying this, but was having second thoughts based on the price and the lack of extras. It's a great show, but I doubt the animation is going to look much better on DVD. I know these are the unedited episodes and the set contains the Flagstones pilot, but with no commentary, deleted scenes, or rare clips, I am not sure it's worth it.

Pros and cons?

Personally, I think around $40 for a 4 disc set without commercials is a good deal.
Been wanting them on DVD since I got my player back in 1999.

Season 1 has some really good episodes.

2. Hot Lips Hannigan
3. The Swimming Pool
4. No Help Wanted
5. The Split Personality
6. The Monster from the Tar Pits
7. The Babysitters
8. At the Races
9. The Engagement Ring
10. Hollyrock, Here I Come
11. The Golf Champion
12. The Sweepstakes Ticket
13. The Drive-in
14. The Prowler
15. The Girls Night Out
16. Arthur Quarry's Dance Class
17. The Big Bank Robbery
18. The Snorkasaurus Hunter
19. The Hot Piano
20. The Hypnotist
21. Love Letters on the Rocks
22. The Tycoon
23. The Astra' Nuts
24. The Long, Long Weekend
25. In the Dough
26. The Good Scout
27. Rooms for Rent
28. Fred Flintstone: Before and After

...Pebbles grew up to become the slut of Bedrock. When her father caught Barney pounding her in the backyard, the series was cancelled...

It'll have the "Flagstones" pilot and some promos/commercials, too.

Those are on the Classic Commercials box set from Madacy (I believe the one good product Madacy has made...)

I am partial to Scooby Doo, but I don' t think that Flintstones is a bad buy at all.

Go buy it!

Remember all those great songs? The Way Outs? The Alvin Brickrock episode? This show rules! I can't wait for the rest of the episodes!

Nah... my song is still The Twitch, with Fred performing as Rock Roll!

There's a town I know
Where the hipsters go
Called Bedrock!
Twitch! Twitch!

I'm really psyched about the sets - I will probably pass on season 6. That was when they were running out of steam and had to use a lot of guest appearances to keep them afloat. I'm just glad Uncle Giggles and Dr. Sinister are in the 5th!

I think the Flintstones are worth it, but I'm not going to be getting it in March with Futurama, the last box set of Transformers, and Scooby Doo all coming out on DVD.

You know, there always seems to be a dead month every other month and all the good stuff chooses to come out at the same time.
