You threw away your copy of Salo in the trash? Wow. That was a $1000 mistake.

Let's see. Which OOP Criterion DVDs will/have made a come back?
400 Blows
Mon Oncle
M Hulot's Holiday
Playtime (soon)
Charade (soon)
Wasn't 'Beauty and the Beast' out of print for a while, too?

Some people may count 'Seven Samurai' as having come back in print, while others may say that it's worth noting that the second printing didn't include the restoration featurette.

Hi Issues
Off this topic - but your email is off in your profile, hence this route.

In another older post you mentioned that you know of a store in NJ which has XP30 for sale.......any chance they would still have it ?

Pl let me know [email protected]

Issues,
maybe I am being a pain, but I would appreciate if you could email / PM me with the store name & location - I would like to see if they (or other stores if they are a chain) have even a display or refurbished unit available

I really dont like to buy from ebay.

Hope you will help.

I am one of those people who also cannot understand why people would be willing to spend so much money on this movie.

It has a reputation, and very little else. Unless you call very uncomfortable scenes of rape, torture, sado masochism, sexual humiliation, etc entertaining.

This has shown on cable TV in the UK on quite a few occasions, and being such an old movie, I cannot understand why anyone would want a DVD copy - having 5.1 sound and pin sharp pic are not ilms like this, and you would probably not get that anyway.

I feel particularly sorry for the people who have not seen it who are prepared to fork out huge sums.

In reality, they will probably watch it and think "Omigod, I paid X dollars for this?

But will take some sort of deluded comfort in the fact that they can tell all their friends they actually have it.

For those who think this is a serious piece of work and genuinely appreciate it, fine. Feel free to buy it and own it. I'ts a free country

But I think a lot of people seek this movie out for the wrong reasons.

Forget the debate on whether these things can or cannot be entertaining. It’s just a very very bad movie.
