Black case, no insert: $11.99 + tax @ Costco.
|
Originally posted by Rammsteinfan Black case/no insert. There were a few changes that I noticed... the mind meld was one which I liked. Another was one shot of Kirk on the bridge at the end before the mind meld which is now a close up and not a wide shot. The only other thing that looked new was the out door shots of Rhue Pente. I t seemed PURPLE now and no longer white... i remember it being white and it looked different this time. Anyone else agree? I no longer have my original dvd so I cant compare it. I'm pretty sure Rhue Pente always had a purplish hue to it. |
OK, this is getting really annoying now.
If I see another post saying " White case, no insert, bought it at costco" etc, I will get ever so slightly miffed (English, sorry - best I can do). Why do people keep insist on telling us there was no insert in there copy? We have already established the fact that there is NO INSERT with this release of the movie - it is not missing, it was not meant to be there in the first place! Someone should close this thread quite frankly, because it's just becoming pointless. |
Is there really an upside-down in space? Or are you guys just locked into a 2-dimensional mentality? :)
Yeah, I know, and spacecraft always orbit from left to right. (unless they are from an alternate universe) |

I got a purple case and a 26-page insert.
(Just trying to keep it interesting for JM1 ;) ) |

Oh my god! The disc art is not right? No useless insert? White case? HELL HATH FROZEN OVER! ;)
Seriously guys...shouldn't it matter whats on the disc the most...and it is a fantastic set...I simply exchanged the white case with my Clerks Animated and the Clerks Animated actually looks better with a white case for it... |
Where did you people who got a white case get yours?
|
Oh, and for those who posted that they don't care about or don't like inserts, I'm missing the insert from my copy of "Changing Lanes." E-mail me and I'll send you the address you can send your insert to.
I've noticed a couple of you have this disc, so it should be no problem, right? Thanks. |
Got it at Fry's. $14.99, black case, no insert.
Also saw it at Best Buy in black case. Where do you get the white case? |
FYE...$17.99...white case...
|
$14.99, Best Buy, White Case. But I switched cases with my copy of Snow White. Just seemed logical that Snow White should have the white case!
|
It seems that Canadian DVD stores (DVD Soon etc) have the white case. I got mine from DVD Soon, I had pre-ordered back in early December.
|
It's the first time I've seen a domestic DVD release with no insert. Normally, cheap DVD releases in Asia are the ones I expect to have no insert, and seeing Paramount diss one of their key franchises (yet again!) by not even going through the motions to make a basic cardboardy hunk of paper with the chapters listed really shows how much Paramount actually hates and resents Star Trek. You'd think they'd enjoy the money it generates, but all they have ever done is try to run it into the ground...

White case at Borders.

Mine was red.
Do I win a prize or something? |
only if there was a golden ticket inside..

from the digital bits:
And speaking of SciFi, yes... we do know that there's no insert in the Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country - Special Collector's Edition DVD. And yes, we do know that the disc art for Disc Two of the set is printed upside down, and that it's actually an image from Generations, not The Undiscovered Country. You have no idea how many e-mails we've gotten about those two issues, asking what we think. So what do we think about the disc art issue? Someone in QC obviously screwed the pooch. As to the insert question, like many studios these days, Paramount is no longer including inserts with their DVD releases. The feeling is they're a waste of money, given that most people never even look at them. Personally, I don't miss them all that much, but I know a lot of you do. What I do wish the studios would do more often is include nice liner notes booklets in the DVD cases, instead of just a sheet of paper with the cover artwork and a list of chapter stops. It's probably not necessary for all releases, but for good special editions, a nice liner notes booklet is like icing on the cake. And yes, people DO read them. Anyway, it's an issue that's sure to stir up dissent in the months ahead. |
Originally posted by Shannon Nutt The picture has the Enterprise-B in space dock. So both the ship and space dock are upside down. Besides, we're referring to the fact that it's upside down as presented in the movie...AS WELL as the fact that it's not even FROM Star Trek VI - it's from Star Trek: Generations! Well, I see absolutely nothing wrong with the art work on disc 2. The Enterprise is pictured exactly as I remember her from the movies. Everything appears normal with the graphics. But what I did discover (and this is the really weird part), all of the lettering on the second disk is upside down! Is that strange, or what? Anyone else have upside down lettering? |
I wanted a white case, but I got the same old black case like the others.
