Two years ago, I would have said movies... hands down.

But lately, I've been watching (and rewatching) a ton of TV shows. Probably because so many FANTASTIC shows have hit DVD lately (B5, Buffy, Star Trek: TNG/DS9, The Shield, Sopranos, Farscape, Family Guy, Outer Limits, etc. etc.)

I'm sure in a few years, after the current stream of fantastic shows runs dry, things will even out a bit.
I'm in the same boat as you in regards to TV seriers on DVD. However, I do not believe that there will a shortage of great TV shows that can be put out on DVD.

TVDVD by far for me. WHile I have a few movies I can watch over and over (Fight Club, Seven, T2, LotR, ect.) I cannot compare with how many times I have watched my TV stuff (Family Guy, Futurama, and King of the Hill have been viewed over in entirety at least five times) and I don't even have Invader Zim, Seinfeld, or Kids in the Hall yet...

Movies have more repeat value, though it's easier to do a marathon with a season set of a TV show.

I find myself rewatching tv shows way more than movies, but not entire runs, just certain eps. Take my Angel boxsets for instance. There are certain eps that I'll watch once or twice and never again. Then there are those eps that I'll watch dozens of times. But like someone said earlier, I try to only buy movies that I find rewatchable and not just stuff I want to see once or twice (I save those for Netflix).

movies in general have more rewatch value to me.

but once they put the entire season of Boy Meets World on DVD, that will change

other than that there are a couple TV shows I could see me watching over and over again. I would love a Fresh Prince of Bel Air DVD set, more Saved By The Bell sets, and a What's Happenin' set.

Movies, I never got into the TV shows; however, if Sienfeld comes out---Oh yes.

TV definitely has more replay value to me. I am also finding myself buying more TV on DVD than movies now.

Movies still get the most replay for me. That's because I only own Twilight Zone Collection & Outer Limits sets. For me, I'd rather buy concert films instead of tv shows. Of course, YMMV.

Movies. I have yet to rewatch a TV DVD and I have unwatched episodes of most shows I can put in whenever if I get the urge to see one. I usually only watch one or two episodes of a show at any time.

Concert video DVDs, on the other hand, get a lot of replays.

I have my movies in alphabetical order so I watch them in order to make sure that I watch them all. I only watch like a movie a week but I pop in Dead Zone Season One, Son of the Beach Volume 1, or one of my Twilight Zone Collection about every other day. It's a lot easier to find time to watch TV shows.

Easy answer.

Anything that is 16:9 with DD, DD-EX, DTS or DTS-ES, I can watch over and over.

4:3 with < Dolby Digital is very difficult to watch over and over...
