Why doesn't MGM release a Bond set like this?

I know that 20 DVD set would be outrageously expensive, but this damn thing is so cool, I wish the United States would get something as cool as they do overseas.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=41521

It is from Asia according to the seller.

I only hope we can get something like that when MGM is supposedly gonna re-do the Bond dvds

Could possibly be a fake?

From what I remember there was a limited European release. Also, if its Region 0 than most likely than not its a fake.

Im not much of an expert...maybe someone else know?

Just because it's Region 0 doesn't mean it's a fake. Lots of movies are officially released in asia as a Region 0 (from what I understand they purposefully do this so they can ship many of their products overseas since we don't get a lot of Region 1 asian film releases and because they quite often have big deluxe sets, such as this one, that aren't made anywhere else).

I remember hearing something about this some time back, so I'm not sure if this one is a fake for sure or not, but I'm thinking its the real deal, and pretty sweet looking at that.

Ditto. The last thing my collection needs is chunky odd packaging that doesn't fit on a shelf. I'm having enough trouble storing my DVDs as it is, without adding to the problem.

It's a shame that Fincher didnt want to fix 'Moonraker' and release a director's cut ....

Oops... wrong series.

No, you're not, they just re-released the special editions. But what he is referring to is the rumor (may be more than a rumor, I'm not 100% sure) that MGM is going to re-do the Bond dvds as 2 disc sets and revamp the audio and video.

Well, if you can find a Korean website, they'll sell you the 20 Bond flicks in a very nice box set that's the same size as about 8 normal DVD boxes stuck together. It has 21 disks (DADay is 2 disks) and well worth it. I have it on my shelf and looks very nice next to my Alien Quadrilogy.

The price is about the same but the shipping is a lot less. The movies are region 3.

If you need a link, then here you go:
http://www.madmad.co.kr/detail.html?dvd_id=7227

Okay, so the pictures don't help you know its size, but it's about 3 LOTR EE boxes wide, same height and depth.

I'd be curious if anybody can find this set in any of the Asian online stores. I just searched dddhouse.com and hkflix.com and amazon.co.jp and couldn't come up with it. I am wondering what it would normally sell for - probably less than the ultimate price will be on ebay!!

Or you could just purchase a custom box from Paul Champagne and not have to rebuy all the movies again.

Well when you click on the link it comes up "invalid item" so it does appear to be a bootleg that has been pulled!

Does anyone have the pic saves that thye could put up since I and other have not seen it?
