I couldn't figure out why everything was an extreme closeup

I think one of my biggest laughs came when Stifler made a beer holder out of the blow-up doll... Great stuff!

I thought the unrated version went a little too far with things. I loved the movie but I think the next time I watch it, I'm going to go with the rated version.

Did anyone else notice in some scenes, the voice didn't quite match up to the lip movement?

I thought this was the funniest of the three. I do like 2 better, but I don't know how people can think this movie was horrible, tons of laughs.

BTW- how can an unrated version go too far with things? That's why it's called unrated....

Huh? The only difference between the rated and unrated versions of the original American Pie is a 2 second shot of Jason Bigg's butt when he is on the counter with the pie. I felt that the unrated label was a ridiculous marketing scam in that case.

I can't believe how crappy the transfer is... also, don't know if it's just my system or what, but on the surround mix, most songs are only on the fronts and surrounds...not the center channel...so they aren't that loud... weird.... a decent movie but not as good as the other two.

The only thing I think about it that stinks is not as many bonus features as the first two, no DTS, and no trailers.

Of course, I am also super disappointed that Freddy vs Jason isn't coming with a DTS-ES track.

Well, aside from the stupid Nikki Ziering "day in the life" sort of thing, I just watched all the extra stuff and thought it was all pretty funny. It did seem rather pixely though.

How's the 3-hour documentary that comes with the gift set? Worth it?

Does it come in its own keep case?

I agree. I thought my disc was defective. The music in the gay club was way too low, and the transfer was very bad.

Target has it on sale for $15,should I get it?

Didn't like the original that much, tryed to hard to be a drama & 'sex' comedy, but just felt fored & phony(see Last American Virgin on how to do raunchy humor & serious drama correctly!). I was surprised to find the sequel enjoyable though, since they did away with phony attempts at drama & actually had fun with the material. Cast seems more comfortable as well & not as stiff as in the original.

Did not see the third in theaters,so based on my surprise liking of Pie 2,I may pick this one up blind as well.

As for the unrated thing. The original had alot more than just the 'pie' scene added to it. It was originally NC-7(which is pathetic,VERY tame movie in terms of graphicness, which was not so graphic afterall) & cut to get an R. The other cuts were seconds were in a few sequences(sex bible, more moaing, nadia masturbating longer & the pie scene among a few others). So the unrated version was NOT a 'ripoff' in that it was the original version that would have been released, had the pathetic MPAA not objected to the tame sexual material & demanding it be toned down,or face the wraith of an NC-17. The only 'ripoff' is the consumer who assumes they are getting the most explicit film ever made everytime they see 'unrated' on a mainstream film. it is mainstream,so no matter what, won't be terribly graphic. So stick with cult films in unrated versions for the truely daring & graphic stuff in either sex or violence & you will see how play it safe most studio films really are!

Now if the unrated Pie is NC-17 material according to the MPAA(could so easily be R!). Then the original R rated Porkys would be XXX today,if that tells you why you can't take the MPAAs decisions seriouslly.

The sequel is better unrated as well. No you don't get any super graphic material, since as much as the film makers want to hype it up as SO 'outrageous' & over the top & sexually graphic. The films are nothing but a HUGE tease that seems to have fooled the sex/nudity deprived mainstream into finding them the most excellent films every made & 'woohoo nudity!!!!" from the reactions I have seen. Yet compared to The Cheerleaders(Now THERE is a sex comedy with guts!),Pie is incredibly tame in every area. Only if you are living in a closet & am shelterd from sexuality as the big 'no no',will you find these films shocking or offensive. I find them quaint little entertainment pieces, but nothing spectacular like most people make them out to be.

Oh yeah, the unrated lesbian scene in Pie 2 is worth it alone. I saw the R version of the scene on Starz & it cuts out all the breast footage & breast licking(which plays an important role in the joke of the scene with how the guys react to what they are wtinessing). The R version, you only get a milisecond tit shot as she puts her top back on,as the guys drool & react enthusiastically. Humor of the scene was completely ruined with the cuts!

So there is reason enough alone to get the unrated Pie 2!

Seems they are using the same trick that was done in Charlies Angels Full Throttle with the "Unrated Version" You don't necessarily get hardcore nude footage, you get a small chunk of the movie that was never submitted to the ratings department, so therefore they can sell it as an "Unrated Version".

I'm still pissed off about the so-called "Ultimate Edition" of the first Pie movie. Wouldn't you think "Ultimate" would mean you would get everything in one package? Instead, they release seperate theatrical and unrated "Ultimate" editions. Buy one, buy the other, or buy both! But heaven forbid you get everything with one purchase.

That's all I have to say about that. I'm going back to sleep now. Nurse! Can you turn up my morphine drip, please?

NC-7. Isn't this the rating they came up with when Barney the Dinosaur smacked some brat upside the head for being off-key during the Barney movie's climactic musical number? Purple Dinosaur violence = NC-7.

Universal is notorious for forced trailers on their DVDs.

I bought it at BB, watched it last night, and put it on eBay this morning. Definitely the weakest of the 3 movies, by far....

This is a question on the other two sets - do the American Pie/Beneath the Crust and AP2/BTC2 sets that show up as 2-disc at Columbia House the same you can find anywhere? In other words is BTC usually 1 disc or 2 discs?

It's the same as stores. They put out two different Beneath the Crusts...one with each movie.

By the way, I picked up the movie and I really enjoyed it (in theaters, also). Checked out some of the extras...they were pretty good. Overall, worth $15.99!

Thank You!!

With all these people talking about how great this movie was, I was afraid it might be the end of the world, had to lock up my cat and dog seperately in case they decided to start sleeping together.

List of film related signs of the apocalypse.

X Star Wars Prequels not too good.

X Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez star in movie together.

X Jackass the movie and The Real Cancun.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez become "Comedy duo of the new Millenia" This one is open to interpretation.

Sylvester Stallone reaches new Golden Era of his career, promises to make only comedies.

Thanks to new surgery, Jim Carrey starts talking from his but, for real!

Peter Jackson, Unhappy with Original LOTR decides to make LOTR Special Edition; claims, I always meant to have Smurfs in the movie, but until now the technology couldnt accomplish it.

If your sole criteria is "number of boob shots", maybe.

This movie was much better than AP2.

I thought all of them were great, with the first one standing out the most. Definitely worth owning though.

I finally got around to watching this today and was somewhat annoyed also with the transfer. Certainly could have been better in both video and audio departments. The movie itself was damn funny!

Possibly better in my opinion than the second but the first is still golden in my book. They all have something to offer that's for sure and well worth viewing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought the transfer was bad. As far as the movie goes, I thought it was the weakest of the three, but it did have some good laughs.
