Could some one explain what makes a western movie a "Spaghetti Western". I never understood what was meant by this term.

Spaghetti = italian, made in italy or at least produced/directed by italians

Western = a movie that has cowboys, as in: people on horses who shoot things

example : once upon a time in the west

So a lot of the Clint Eastwood movies were shot in Italy?

A low-budget Western film made by a European, especially an Italian, film company.

Altho the term has probably migrated to include any low-budget western film.

Not shot in Italy, per se, but made by Italians and produced in Italy. IIRC, much of the Leone westerns were shot in Spain. The Spanish landscape has a more western US look than the hills of Italy. The Django and Trinity movies were shot in Italy, though.
