This one baffles me:

I mean, as far as I can tell, Jim Morrison died like at least 2 years before this movie was even made. Hell, probably more than that. So, like, he couldn't possibly have seen it, let alone give some obscure praise(?) to it. Things known and unknown, huh, Jim? Yeah, put down the bong and get your ass back into that tub. Seriously, now. How is that quote gonna make me buy this DVD? Where's the big bold Siskel & Ebert "Two Thumbs Up!" plastered on the front? That would make me buy it, no questions asked.

Idiots in marketing.

I think the worst quote ever is the signature of our very own Marty888:

"The sex was so good, even the neighbors in the next apartment lit a cigarette."

So annoying!

Yeah, they had contracted this one out to Anchor Bay, but that contract expired this year (and it is currently out-of-print). Disney is reissuing the title in February, although I believe it is missing the Fairuza Balk intro and interview.

Instead of just dismissing it as a clone, you should check Equilibrium out. It really is quite a good film.

It honestly DID make me "Forget The Matrix".

At least this didn't have bullsh!t CGI with five thousand Hugo Weavings.

Hugo Weaving is a pimp. The only thing better than one of him is 5,000 of him.

I just watched Wes Craven Presents They, and as soon as it finished I thought about this thread and knew I had to post. The quotes are "Terrifying...don't see it alone" -ABC-TV, "Terror-filled...a must see!" Wireless Magazine and "One of the most terrifying endings in recent memory!" -New York Daily News. The movie was BORING, stupid and awful. This was the first blind buy I've watched so far (I have plenty more) that I really regretted getting even though it was only $7.99.

Perhaps they meant "terrifying-ly boring" and by "dont see it alone" they meant so you can brainstorm with another person on what to do instead of watching the movie.

I'm glad I did see it alone...I wouldn't want any friends or family to endure that.

Considering you have classics like 2 Fast 2 Furious and Rollerball in your collection I probably won't be too cocky about your "judge a movie by its cover" ability.

I can't believe no one's posted this one.

This is the funniest quote EVER:

Gene Shallot: "Bad Critic with a vengeance!"

Thanks for the heads up. This is one title I've been meaning to get. Even though as a blind buy, I know that it's regarded as kind of disturbing as a children's movie and that's good enough for me. I thought the re-done cover was bad enough, but to learn there are missing features, I knew I needed to act soon. This has been on my CH want list for a while, just got it as one of my enrollment titles today and Hooray! it's the Anchor Bay release. I don't think it would have been too hard to find, even if it is OOP, but thanks again for the initiative.
