DVDs released RIGHT after Christmas/New Year's

Anyone else noticing this trend? It started with Fast and Furious several years ago, XXX last year, and now S.W.A.T. and American Wedding this year.

If you forgot, both Fast and Furious and XXX sold like crazy right after the holiday shopping season when they were released. It is an off time after the biggest shopping time of the year, and for some reason these titles sell like no other the week or two after Christmas.

I am predicting huge sales for SWAT and American Wedding when they are released this coming week....

I got over $100 worth of giftcards but I use those for older titles I've missed during the year.

In the case of Warner's Babylon 5 season 4 (coming 1/6), I think it was a conscious effort to release it after the holidays so their product didn't get lost in the sea of big releases that came out from October through December.
