National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2 & Thanksgiving Reunion??

So since both of these have aired can we expect DVD releases of these next holiday season? I am a completest and must have ALL National Lampoon movies on DVD

I think a Double Feature would be great for these. The only extra I would really like is Judge Reinhold & Randy Quaid(sp?) commentaries on the respective films.

It wouldn't surprise me.... unless they totally tanked in the rating. Even then they may still put 'em out just to ride the "Vacation" bandwagon.

It's all about Cousin Eddie and his family. No Chevy. I'm pretty sure it's about to air in the next few days.

This was on NBC last night. I only caught a couple of minutes of it but it looked kind of funny. It's about cousin Eddie and his family getting ship wrecked (from what I could tell).

I watched a bit of Christmas Vacation 2. I stopped watching because it was horrible.

But I think it's a safe bet it'll hit DVD next holiday season.

I saw CHRISTMAS VACATION 2 last night. I think we should end the thread.

I am a BIG Vacation fan. Even have good things to say about some of VEGAS VACATION.

CHRISTMAS VACATION 2 was absolutely terrible. Only once in the 83 minutes of the film did I slightly chuckle. A true embarassment to the Vacation franchise. It was good to see Dana Barron again(Audrey from the first film), but her character was such a whiny jerk that you didn't like her.

The problem seems to be that it was written by Matty Simmons. Simmons has been involved with the franchise since the beginning. He was the businessman who started National Lampoon magazine. Yet, I believe it was his first time writing a screenplay. It showed. He did write a great autobiography, IF YOU DON'T BUY THIS BOOK WE'LL SHOOT THIS DOG, but I think he had a co-writer. Anyway, it needed another writer.

I recorded it with my DVD recorder and don't even think it was worth the $2 the blank disc cost, let alone the cost of a full DVD.

Anyway, take my biased word as someone who wanted to love it that it was no good.

"National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Reunion" has nothing to do with the "Vacation" series.... much like Animal House, Loaded Weapon 1, Van Wilder, Repli-Kate, etc.

"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin's Eddie's Island Adventure" is about the Eddie character from the Vacation series. It premiered Saturday night on NBC. It was originally called "National Lampoon's Cousin Eddie's Christmas Vacation Lost" then at the last minute they slapped the "Christmas Vacation 2" on there. Anyway, Randy Quaid and Miriam Flynn return as Eddie and Catherine, but also Dana Barron, the original Audrey from the first Vacation movie, returns as Audrey. Previously, each of the 4 "main" vacation movies had a different Rusty and Audrey.

Complete list of movies with the National Lampoon monicker slapped on:

Animal House (1978)
National Lampoon Goes to the Movies (1981)
Class Reunion (1982)
Vacation (1983)
Joy of Sex (1984)
European Vacation (1985)
Christmas Vacation (1989)
Loaded Weapon 1 (1993)
Last Resort (1994)
Senior Trip (1995)
Vegas Vacation (1997)
Golf Punks (1998)
Van Wilder (2002)
Repli-Kate (2002)
Dorm Daze (2003)

Made for TV Movies:

Disco Beaver from Outer Space (1978)
Attack of the 5 Ft. 2 Women (1994)
Favorite Deadly Sins (1995)
Guys, The (1996)
Dad's Week Off (1997)
Don's Analyst, The (1997)
Men In White (1998)
American Adventure (2000)
Thanksgiving Family Reunion (2003)
Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure (2003)

Of that list, JOY OF SEX wasn't released with the National Lampoon title. They developed it to star John Belushi, but after he died, the film went through all sorts of changes and Lampoon wasn't involved in it.

Funny thing, the majority of those titles came out after the magazine was long gone. Someone bought the rights to the title and used it on a bunch of really bad direct to video films.

Honestly.....PLEASE save your money.

I'm a huge NATIONAL LAMPOON fan, and an even bigger VACATION fan (even Vegas Vacation), so I sat through CHRISTMAS VACATION 2, and let me just say:

Like EVERYONE said, it is bad. No laughs.

Don't be an idiot. Do not buy this.

I taped it, so I just watched parts of this movie when it was on. The only thing I liked in this movie was the sandwich Cousin Eddie was eating in the first half hour of the movie. Looked like a good sandwich.

I watched Christmas Vacation 2 when it aired Saturday and it sucked really bad. There were very few funny parts. Everything about the movie sucked. I know I won't be getting this on DVD.

I LOVED the original Christmas Vacation and have probably seen it 100 times. I'm also a fan of all the other Vacation movies. This one was just very bad.
