Lain Re-releases?

Does anyone know what the deal is with the upcoming January release of Lain - Volume 1 - Signature Series? I know it is $10 cheaper MSRP, is it just a price reduction of the older version? I have also seen a March release date for Volume 2.

Geneon/Pioneer is re-releasing some of their anime DVDs under the Signature Series banner with a price reduction. Lain Vol. 1 in January, Vol.2 in March and so forth.

Gatekeeper
Lain
Sailor Moon
Tenchi
Trigun

The DVD is identical except there is a Signature Series banner at the top of the front cover.

Geneon/Pioneer doesn't have any ownership interest in Cowboy Bebop. Cowboy Bebop is distributed by Sunrise Inc., Bandai.

Why does Pioneer's site say otherwise?

http://www.pioneer-ent.com/cowboybebop.html

edit: It looks Bandai now has the rights to them, and rereleased the series a while back. Is that correct?

Bandai has always had the rights to them and were the only ones to release them in the US. If you looked at the images of the DVDs on the Pioneer...err.Geneon (can't get use to that yet) site you would see the large Bandai on the cover.

I think Pioneer just does the distribution for Bandai.

Pioneer/Geneon used to be the distributor for Bandai. Bandai distributes their own DVDs now (so I heard).
