Ford Fairlane MIA?

Hello,

I live in Medford, OR, not the hot bed of well... anything, but I am usually able to get new DVDs on Tuesdays.

On my lunch break I went to Walmart, Circuit City, Fred Meyer and the Hollywood video and didn't fine Ford Fairlane. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

I might try Target in an hour, BACK... get it?

Check the $5.88 bin at Wal-Mart. It's been there for weeks.

After reading about the Ford Fairlane dvd in the 5.88 bin, I checked my local WalMart in the NoVA (Sterling, VA) and they had them there. Thanks for the tip!

eh?

Ok, well, I understand this Ford Fairlane isn't a blockbuster LOTR:EE-like release, but does anyone find it strange that the only place people have found it is in Walmart's $5.88 bin?

Maybe I'm mistaken, wasn't it supposed to be released today?

Did I miss something?

(Doing my best Dice impression)

Here I was yesterday, so pumped up for what my friends and I officially named "Ford Fairlane day" After jumping into our Ford, we went to 4 different stores, including the always reliable Tower Records which for some reason had 50 copies of f'n Gigli but no Fairlane! We asked a clerk at Circuit City if they had received it yet. He looked at me like I had just asked him to marry me. I called him a snapperhead, and left for the door, but first remembered to rearrange their new release section. (for some reason, they like putting widescreen on the bottom and fullcrap on the top)

I'm off to check Wal-Mart's $5.88 bin. If they don't got it i'm gonna bury somebody in it instead.

I bought a copy of this in WM's $5.88 bin also. I too thought that this had just been released, and the $5.88 bin is usually for items that are being reduced/remaindered after a while on the shelves, isn't it?

Anyway, this is a blind buy for me (although I believe I've seen 15 minutes or so of it on TV at 3:00am sometime) and while I don't always like dumb comedies (which I take this to be) for $5.88 I am taking a flyer.

Apparently new SRP $9.98 also. Captain Kronos was another new release that went immediately into the bin.

Also Campus Man and Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell.

And The Pick-Up Artist is another 12/16 release they had out weeks early.

Check your K-Marts as well...they have a big cardboard dump bin for < $10 titles in their Electronics area which is where I found it Monday for $5.99.

I found mine at Wal-Mart tonight in the $5.88 bin. Woohoo! I never would have guessed to look there.

However, I can't find the Billy Idol video on the disc anywhere, as the bonus feature list indicates is included.

Bill,

I wouldn't mind taking one of those off your hands. When is the next time you'll be up at the BB in Plymouth? E-mail me...

It's on the fullscreen side of the disc. I just checked mine, and it's there.

Looks pretty darn good to me in anamorphic wide, even more considering the price.

Only place I found it was Wal-Mart...dropped down $5.50 from $5.88...

Wow, now I'm glad I spent the 5 minutes a few weeks ago fishing through the bin at Walmart for one of these. The Best Buy website lists it as Backordered with no Store Availability. Amazon doesn't have it either. Looks like DVDEmpire and DDD do though. Seems like they B&M's except for Walmart got shafted on this one.

I have checked two walmarts so far to no avail... one more nearby that I may check if I feel like subjecting myself to the madhouse that this particular store is... If not, then DDD for $7.xx it will be I guess...
