I remember enjoying about half of the films when I was a kid, especially the first one. I may pick this up for nostalgia's sake.

This might also be the boxset including the most films on the IMDB "Bottom 100" list ever.

That's an R2 site. Maybe we'll get something stateside (IE individual releases priced at $15 each).

Seems logical that we'll get it here at the same time. They're getting My Fair Lady at the same time, for example, and the Oscar Winners in February too.

I doubt many people here will pick that up. These people were bitching about having to get Temple of Doom in the trilogy instead of Raiders and Crusade separatley.

Ye i really think this is a horrible idea. Unless its super cheap it will not sell at all, the only good one is the first one but besides that they all pretty much blow hardcore.

Great news! I hope we get it here in the US, along with this:
Warner hit a real purple patch in August with a trilogy of Prince musicals including a two disc special edition of the mega-hit Purple Rain, based on his best-selling album plus it's sequels Under the Cherry Moon and Graffiti Bridge.

If it is at a reasonable cost, I will get the set. I can watch the first five, its the last two that are kinda hard to sit through.

You can bet it'll be cheap. Only the first one is getting a SE tratment and I doubt it will be one of WB's 2-disc SEs. You you're looking at 6 barebones disc with an SE. Should go for around $50... less with STL.

How do we know that only the first is getting SE treatment? The others had A LOT of deleted scenes added to their respective TV airings. In fact, when I first watched the home video versions, I was amazed at all the scenes that were "cut out." WB needs to add them.

Looks like I'll finally be able to replace the MAR Police Academy DVD I've currently got.

Yes, hopefully all deleted and added-for-TV scenes are available. Even if they're open matte or P&S. Pretty please.

I remember enjoying up to Part 5, I think... But I'll pick up the box, for collection sake and It'll probably be cheaper in the long run.

As I understand the 20th Anniversary SE of the first one will be available separately, as well as in the boxset, and I think the rest will only be in the boxset. Which is cool, cause I'm getting all 7. Mission to Moscow was fun!! So kill me.

I've seen all of them but after Steve Guttenberg wasn't in them they started sucking.
I'd still buy the box set just for the first 5
Police Academy (1984)
Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985)
Police Academy 3: Back in Training (1986)
Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987)
Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988)

These 2 can just be coasters for my drinks
Police Academy 6: City under Siege (1989)
Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow (1994)

No way! All 7 are classics!

Police Academy is in its own genre and thus I can't wait for Police Academy 8: Space Odyssey! I'd also buy the 2 TV shows based on the movies.
