Your year in review -

I'm really bored today, so I decided to skim my DVD profiler and check out some facts about my collection:

DVDs as of Dec 31st 2002: 570
DVDs as of Dec 10th: 747
Overall Net gain: 177
Average: Just shy of 1/2 of a DVD per day (0.484931 to be exact)

Longest gap without a DVD purchase: 7-29 to 8-27
Most DVDs in a month: 22 (march)
Least DVDs in a month: 2 (august)
Most DVDs in one shot: 8
Number of Free DVDs: 18

First disc of the year: Back to the Future
Last disc of the year (estimated): City Hunter season 3

Whew - looks like it's been a hell of a year. So how did you guys do?

I dont need to keep track of much....but I remember the following:

Average Per Month: 30 to 40

Gap Of Not Buying: maybe 5 days

Most In Month: 47

Least In Month: 20

Most In One Shot: 17

...to the best of my knowledge, anyway. this next year will be balls-to-the-wall buying power!! I plan on squashing the above #ers with a total out-of-control attitude.

I don't keep any personal stats like that (and I long ago lost track of how many DVDs I own).

But, as an interesting piece of trivia, there were approximately 11,455 DVDs released in 2003. A pretty big increase over the 8,198 in 2002.

30 to 40 a month? Eek. I can barely afford one a month. My collection is somewhere around 134. I've been collecting since July '99. And I've been thinking of pruning the collection a little.

Let's see:

I probably added about 40 titles to my collection, but I'm not sure how much my number of DVDs went up, because I sold quite a few. That number includes gifts and my (now) wife's collection.

Average: Probably about 1-2 a month. Hard to say.

Longest gap without a DVD purchase: Probably a couple months
Most DVDs in a month: Probably around 7 (columbia house)
Least DVDs in a month: 0
Most DVDs in one shot: 7
Number of Free DVDs: No idea.

First disc of the year: unsure...
Last disc of the year (estimated): For me to buy? Probably POTC or X2... but here's hoping I get the Indy box for X-mas.

I think we're really plumbing the depths of inanity here... I don't see any opportunity for discussion, just person after person listing statistic after statistic. Closing.
