A revisionist slant on history, sure. But an instructive one, if I'm remembering correctly (I saw this maybe 10 years ago, so many of the particulars are fuzzy).
The film serves as a kind of cultural bookmark. For those interested in the rhetorical strategies employed by many influential 1970s intellectual elites as a way toward re-framing the historical record vis-a-vis the Hollywood blacklists, check it out. The screenwriter, Walter Bernstein, was himself blacklisted.
It'll be nice to have this on DVD, and I'm interested to see what -- if any -- extras will be included. This film may not "entertain" everyone, but it'll prove instructive to many.

YES! I am very excited about this. I've had this on my unannounced wishlist since I first started keeping a list.
I've wanted this since I first saw it in a college class about the Cold War. It's very interesting if you're interested in history and/or political science.
