How to remove magic marker from a keep case?
I finally managed to get a copy of the OOP Short Circuit R1 DVD from eBay which is in pretty good condition, except that the previous owner wrote his/her name on the front and back of the case as well as the label side of the disc with a black felt-tip marker. Anyone know how I can get this off without damaging the case or the disc?

I used ethanol. I got mine from my chemistry lab, I'm sure the rubbing alcohol in the store should be the same. It worked like a charm for me.

I'd suggest just replacing the keepcase.
As for the disc, certain markers are very difficult to remove, even from plastic. A used CD store I used to shop at would write a number on the center of their CDs. That shit would never come off, no matter what I tried.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think I'll hold off on using chemicals on the disc. I love this movie, so I'd hate to trash it

Who the hell writes their name on a dvd anyways? I mean seriously were they preparing for the event that it would get lost in the dvd player and have to search for it in the LAND OF LOST DVD'S? You know sorta like the Ren and Stimpy with the land of lost socks

Quick and Easy
Buy a Dry erase marker and write over the top of the permanent marker and then wipe away. I found this out one year when friends thought it was funny to use a permenant marker on my dry erase board.. I just happened to be writing on the board with the dry erase pen and ran it over the permenant and notice it cleared away after that! I have used this trick on DVDs and their cases.. My mom used to use a permenant marker on hers..
