According to IMDB, it's 1.85:1. Though, as always, the validity of that is questionable. Someone should be able to confirm it though.

...Thanks Tom.

It was 1.85:1 for sure. I believe "Minority Report" is the only 2.35:1 movie Spielberg has directed since "Close Encounters."

This is great news. As far as must have DVDs are, this will rank up there with the top 10.

...and 1941.

This release date is not really news to me, but it's nice to see it's probably true. I wonder why they couldn't have released it this month for the 10th anniversary though.

No-one's forgetting. MR was his first 2.35:1 film since Hook; I wasn't saying he hadn't done 2.35:1 before.

Great! Another Collector's Box that Universal is trying to milk off their consumers.

Well, if the box contains great materials, I probably don't mind getting one

I thought this was a really good film but there's no way I could watch it more than once every 5 years or so. It seems odd that a film like this is being marketed so commercially with a collectors box and so forth. Kind of tacky to make a collectors box out a film that shows tragedy that was so real.

Well, I only hope that by collector's box, this release will be given the full treatment that it deserves....

Great news!

I'm wondering what's in the collector's box to justify the big difference in price?

The VHS collector's edition included the original book and the CD soundtrack...I'm guessing this one will include at least those...plus probably a senitype, and maybe a DVD of featurettes only available in the box set...still, that's probably not worth the extra $30+ dollars.

This is great news to me. Schindler's List was one of the very first movies I ever saw. (I'm only 13 now)

Excellent news - I've been waiting for this release since I started buying dvds five years ago. Wow, I can't believe it's been that long.

what's the word on deleted footage? I thought I had read that much character development/exposition was cut for the sake of time?

It's an 1:85:1 aspect ratio. I had the laserdisc.

I have a feeling that the collector's edition will have the movie, soundtrack, lobby cards and the The making of Schindler's Lost book or possibly the original novel. That's my hunch.
