Guzzlefish question

How long does it take a new release to get posted in Guzzlefish's database? I haven't been able to locate the Quadrilogy in it as of yet...

Depends. Most of the time it is in there by the time the movie comes out. Just submit the title to them to make sure they're putting it in.

These guys are horrible for this kind of stuff. They have a nice website and setup but they dont update very often. Case in point, I sent an Image of Brotherhood of the Wolf 3disc Canadian release, and they never bother posting it. If u add the title to your list you'll see it sans picture. For the longest time too they didnt have a pic for Catch ME If You Can. After a few months one finally appeared. I wouldn't count on seeing the Quadrilogy for quite some time.

They still haven't registered Tokyo Story as a Criterion, either.

Likewise with "Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume 4." It's been out for three weeks and nowhere to be found on Guzzlefish.

This is one of the titles I submitted to them that hasn't been added. A few months ago, the titles were added within about 24 hours and they would send a private mailbox message to let you know the title was added. They must be bombarded right now. I have started a list of titles I'm waiting to update with them.

There are a LOT of Criterions, especially those released in the past year, that aren't tagged as a Criterion.

These guys obviously do not have their shit together.

In my experience, this is more of a problem w/ the CD database. There are many things I have that aren't listed (and I can't find coverscans for, to submit).

That's why I don't really rely on these online services for accuracy. They're only as good as the people maintaining them and if the administrators are going to be lax about updating/correcting titles (something you have no control over), why invest the time or energy?

Catch Me If You Can now has a picture. It's been like that for a while.. however, as I stated previously, it did not have one even a few months after its release.

From an Aesthetic point of view, Guzzlefish has the competition beat, however its their database thats crap!

Chalk up the newly released Young Sherlock Holmes as another missing title on Guzzlefish.

Considering it is a free service, I don't like to complain. Although, I do wish that there was a cover scan of Babe 2: Pig in the City.

Guzzlefish is not a free service. You pay for it by viewing their advertisements.

As opposed to any other website? What about this one?

Im not complaining, I'm pointing out a fundamental(sp?) flaw with their service. Yes.. that is it...

Well, good to see everyone else having the same problem (at least so I don't feel singled out)--I submitted U2 GO HOME: LIVE FROM SLANE CASTLE, IRELAND the day it came out and still nothing...you can't imagine my ire when I type "Slane" in the search field and only come up with Bryan Adams' ugly punk ass face...

The people who run the site are going to be AWOL until at least January. Currently the only updates going through are the automated ones from the Muze subscription service, which is where they get the majority of their listings. But obviously Muze does miss titles on occasion, and does not list any international discs.

All manual submissions or updates are on hold until next year. It's frustrating, yes.

I submitted all the info and a pic of the Alfred Hitchcoch Presents Volume 1 DVD back in the beginning of June. Still hasn't made their database.

This is why I am not enamored with Guzzlefish. I like the statistics, but they are bad about adding releases and are missing many obscure titles.
