I am not even acknowledging AvP...it doesnt even count at all...
This set is absolutely tremendous...the most comprehensive boxset ever...
I was amazed that they actually put the entire Laserdisc archive...thats tremendous!

The simple answer to this question is...how do you know when a franchise is finished?
How many times has a "final" film been announced, or a "last chapter" etc. And the director and star etc have said they won't make any more...and 15 years later they decide to do it all over again.
So on that basis you would never, ever buy any box sets, would you?
Realistically, if you want the box set, you have to buy it. Nothing you can do if a sequel is announced years down the line...

That said, I would not really consider AvP an Alien film, just like FvJ is not a Friday the 13th or Elm St. movie. Just my .02.

As for Alien v Predator, didn't Paul Anderson do "Event Horizon" which is in my opinion very much an under-rated Sci-Fi/horror film.
Not to mention Lance Hendrickson is in AvP which is a slam dunk, non?

I think AvP has potential as long as it's about Aliens and Predators and it's not like some old Godzilla vs. whatever where the monsters fighting were 10% of the movie and had little to do with the movie.
