Release date for Alien INDIVIDUAL DVDs?

I have no desire to buy the Quadrilogy and own (IMHO) Alien and 3 subpar movies. Have any dates been announced for individual releases?

No ESQ, just Alien. I think the other movies, to be polite, aren't very good.

BTW, to Fox for announcing this early, so people who don't want all 4 movies won't be suckered into buying all of them.
(although IMHO Aliens isn't as good as Alien, it still kicks ass)

How are the individual releases different from what's in the box set?

As I understand it, the only difference is that you must buy the box set to get the bonus 9th disc.

The individual 2-disc releases are the same ones that are included in the box set. The only advantage to the box set is the extra 9th disc that won't be sold separately.

The real question is: What kind of packaging does the individual 2-DVD releases come in? I really want the set, but I DETEST the packaging...

So, it comes down to a choice between owning the 9th DVD or getting more manageable packaging...

The 20% off at DDD (to make the price around $58.xx) is making it really tempting to get the box.

Hopefully the idiots at MGM will do the same with the Bond boxsets.

The packaging isn't that bad on the boxset. Yes it opens out a long way but it's a nice looking package - very shiny, sturdy enough cardboard.

You could always go for the R2 boxset instead. Very different packaging.
