am I too picky? !!update!!
My girlfriend just called me too picky reason:
I purchased X2 today. I just opened my package and saw that my insert was cut @ with a wierd angle. It does not look normal, so I plan on taking it back to target for an exchange? Thoughts?
Am I picky or just a collector?
update....all went well with the exchange...I did recieve a wierd look from the employee though.

wow. I now know why Customer service is so bad... they deal with people like this 40% of the time so the rest of the 60% of the time they are in the bad mood because of it.

You have the right to be happy with your purchase and to not accept defects. Period.
We have people here that need to have the disc facing up when they put their dvd in the case. Whatever.
Personally my quality of life is much better not dealing with customer service/returns lines.

90% of the time i always pissed at WB's snapper case...
so, having a slight small problem with insirt won't have me flipped over... or even go extra mile to exchange it...
save your gas & enjoy the movie...
besides, you know that in 2-3 years from now they will re-release the movie again with better edition... so, why bother with insert
just my take on it

Did you hear the anouncement?
There will be 10 "mutant" inserts... Anyone who finds one of these "mutant" inserts will win a trip to cerebral, and get a camio in the next X3 movie...

Great, but I thought that Chevy stopped making the Camio ...

Nah, your not picky, I enjoy the inserts. When I bought "The Recruit" DVD it was my first movie that did not come with an insert. I brought it back to Circuit City and had their Customer Service Manager open several DVDs to prove that there was no insert missing.
After about 5 dvds being opened, he remembered that "Old School" didn't have an insert either and opened 3 more of them to prove it to me.
If the studios provided inserts or put in a piece of paper saying "No Insert Included" it would make things easier for the customers. I always feel cheated when a dvd doesn't contain an insert.

Miscut insert, huh .... worth a trip back to the store to deal with CS, worth posting on a forum .... I hate to think how you react when something important goes wrong.

It's all about what's important to you. If you want to slog back out there and get the right one, go for it. I try not to stress about inserts because almost every one I see has a bent corner or crease on it. It's generally just in the nature of the packaging.
I buy the large majority of DVDs via the mail, so I'd have to be really upset about packaging to rewrap it, go back to the PO and pay to get it sent back, wait some more...just not worth it to me.
For me, if the disc is the right one, hasn't decoupled from the hub and ricocheted around for 400 miles of the trip and gotten scratched...it's all good for me.

I'd let insert problems go. That wouldn't really bother me and I'm very picky about everything. Usually as long as the discs are in good shape I'm happy.
Damaged cases bother me but I've yet to exchange something because of it. I get alot of my discs through Columbia House and almost every cardboard case has been dinged up from sticking 6 DVDs in a huge box with no packing materials.
My X-Men slip cover had the edge taken off with a box cutter. I even let that one go. The discs were in perfect shape.

I would likely not notice, because I usually never look at the inserts. But again, the customer is always right. So while I wouldn't personally do it, I can't mock you for doing it.
