Alien Quadrilogy Disc Label Problem?

I just received my copy of Alien Quadrilogy and upon inspecting its contents, the discs' labels appear to have not fully taken to the media itself -- looks like dropouts, smears, etc. The labels are clear where it's important (e.g. title, disc #, etc.). Has anyone else seen this or is this artwork intentional? Upon inspection, the discs themselves have no visual scratches, etc.

I believe it was intentional. Just received my copy today as well
and the lettering on the disks as you say have dropouts, etc.

It looks fine to me. It's just part of the presentation/packaging.
Enjoy the films. Can't wait to pop them in with my new DVI connection.

... my eyes are closed, as I repeat "I believe... " over and over again... FWIW, I have an email set to be sent to Fox (with my luck it'll turn out to be the wrong email address... we'll see) scheduled to be automatically sent out on the 2nd... can't break street. :-)

I see what you mean. Either this is intentional or my copy has a problem too. It looks like part of the artwork, rather than a mis-labeling, to me.

I echo the statements above. Mine also looks the same. I am sure it was just their style of artwork. Now if I can get my 2 year old to go to bed I can actually watch these movies instead of looking at threads here.

If this artwork is not intentional, I wonder if it could simply be a bad batch. Mine came from DVDSoon.
