No specs yet, but the SRP is $26.99, and there'll be separate WS and FS releases.

1) $5 says this will be delayed (Oscar noms = re/expanded-release)

2) Whose genius idea was it that there could possibly be a market for a Fool-screen release of this??

A high MSRP for a title like this is not a surprise. It was a limited release and most are priced at that.

In any case, I can't wait. I need to score me a screener.

Can't wait for the giant heads, critic quotes, and whatnot.

[edit]Just noticed the spine; this isn't the US cover art, but it's very good, anyway.

I think the movie poster with Scarlette Johannason's face in the bottom is better.

I'd rather have one with Scarletter Johannason's bottom on the cover.

You know what would make a nice cover?

There's a pic of Scarlett on the cover of RES magazine, and it's simple and beautful. Custom cover, anyone?

I thought we didn't want anything huge on the cover?

The LP of the soundtrack has that on its cover. Good record, too.

My girlfriend will probably pick this one up for me.

I read an interview with Sofia Coppola where she hinted the Lost in Translation DVD might have an old whiskey commercial that was jointly directed by Francis Ford Coppola and Akira Kurosawa.

cant wait for this dvd. a great movie in my opinion. this year had a very slow start and the early blockbuster summer season was full of crap...and then came movies like american splendor, lost in translation, mystic river...it has turned into a pretty nice year for me.

You might be surprised. My roommate always buys full-screen when given a choice. He understands the difference between the two, and understands that there is usually more picture in the widescreen - I've explained it to him and even showed him examples. He just isn't interested. He is convinced that everything in the periphery isn't important, anyway, so he isn't missing much. All the examples I can show him to try and change his mind don't do a thing. He much prefers full-screen. Then again, he is a massive tool. But, he loved this movie, so I guarantee when he buys it, he will buy the full-screen. I'm sure there are more of these people than you'd expect.

Anyway, back on topic, I missed this in the theater and am anxiously awaiting this release. And I do hope that they use that cover - very nice.
