Desperately Seeking Susan is a rock movie?

Oh, and it's Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Great movie, BTW.

I don't know if it could be considered a "priority"...especially since it's so EASY to do..

'sides, it only happens when someone cuts & pastes a "Top xXx" list of theirs..

In the case of Friends, I think they're referring to the fact that each season set has "footage you've never seen!", according to the front of the box.

I only saw the first several seasons in syndication, so there's even more footage I'd never seen. One of my favorites is in Season 5's "The One with the Cop", where they show how Ross's couch ("Pivot! Pivot!") gets destroyed. I always kinda got the feeling there was a scene missing there; now I know why.

1. Minority Report

These movies are supposed to look less than pristine because thats the way Soderberg and Spielberg wanted it.

What do they mean by this? I think Minority Report looks stellar. If it appears washed out, that's intentional. It was a great representation of how the movie looked in the theater. I didn't see Traffic in the theater but the DVD is more than sufficient.

8 Mile is a rock movie? Just mentioning 8 Mile in the same list as rock is a disgrace.

Peter travers says that "the bleached picture makes the special effects undistinguished" And on titanic paraphrasing what he said: there are no special features, the dvd was rushed to meet demand, and the transfer is dated by todays standards (I guess non anamorphic widescreen) he only gave discriptions for the number one of each list, so don't blame me.

I think someone was "Stoned" when they rolled out this list.

Worst and the least understandable I have ever read:

Lousy scenes Restored on dvd
1. Star Wars Episode 2
2. Freddie Got Fingered
3. American Pie 2 Unrated

Do they mean "Deleted Scenes"?

The Best of 2003
TTT EE
Indy
Terminator 3
The Matrix Reloaded
Seabiscuit (the special 2 disc SE with Archival Footage)
Once Upon a Time in the West
Finding Nemo
Alien Quadrilogy
The Shield

How do they know T3 or Alien Quadrilogy is "Best of 2003", neither have been release yet and 2003 is not over yet. Maybe they have early editions.

mainly the star wars lousy scene is with sam jackson being a jedi. and pulp fiction is more stuff with Harvey Kietel (is this deleted scenes with him or did his part get cut down in the theatrical release and the dvd is a directors cut?)
and when travers mentions complicated menus, he has a picture of the SIMPLIST dvd menus out there. LOTR EE's

Wost Commentaries
1. Meet the Parents
2. Basic Instinct
3. The Osbournes
What are they talking about?

Basic Instinct's commentary with Camila Paglia is easily on of the best commentaries ever! The Verhoven/DeBont commentary is pretty damn good too.

For worst packaging, how could they forget the Total Recall "collectable" Mars tin which has the tendancy to roll across the floor when it falls out of its bent, dilapated cardboard stand. This "limited edition collectable" still shows up on the bargain shelf for as little as $9.99.

Or how about the Evil Dead Book of the Dead that was made out of toxic rubber?

Or the Basic Instinct DVD in the clear blue case with no cover or insert?

Or how about "anything in a snapper case?"

Granted I've only seen parts of it on DVD, but I thought the Minority Report transfer looked pretty damn sweet. It perfectly captured the look it had when it was shown in theaters.

Well, cause and effect.

Yeah, "Desperately Seeking Susan" a rock movie!? And glad they gave props to "Hedwig and the Angry Inch". One helluva movie.

BTW, was Aaron Carter on the cover of this issue?

I sure hope that you're joking or being sarcastic.

If you don't like the movies, well I guess that's your own personal opinion that you're entitled to (although I think both are great films in their own rights). But you can hardly fault the transfer of Minority Report or of Traffic (on either the first release or the Criterion release). As has already been pointed out, they were both intended to have a washed-out look to them and appear exactly as they were intended to.
