I love how people, say respect others taste in films and DVD purchasing, but when it comes to LOTR, even the most senior members can't resist making personal comments about DVD taste and the such.

Some people don't think this dvd is worth $20+ unless it has a free ticket. Fine. So don't buy it. End of story.
I THINK that's all I said.
Me? I'm buying because I think it is worth it.

Although I couldn't care less about the absence of the free ticket, it would have been nice.
Also, it has been posted that they don't have to give away a free ticket since virtually all of us who purchase the EE will see ROTK when it arrives in theaters. True, but if I did not have the free ticket last year, my wife would not have gone to the movie--since she had no interest in LOTR. Since we had a freebie, she went, loved it, ran home watched the first film (both cuts), read the books, bought me TTT on release day, preordered the EE online and is anxiously awaiting the premier of the final film. Seriously.

Even though TTT:EE doesn't include a free ticket, I will see it many times over. Need..... return..... king...

. . . I love watch "non-believers" get hooked against their will.

There is a difference between one of the best DVD releases to date and getting a bargain.
I am usually pretty price concious on what I buy ( I don't feel I have to own every movie anymore) so the free ticket was a nice way of getting me to buy the LOTR: EE.
This isn't a nitpick, its a simple economic decision.
