How do you watch your TV shows?

So, lets say that you get the most recient boxed set of Show-X(Buffy, Star Trek, Transformers - whatever). How do you set about watching it? Do you do it all in one sitting? Do you like to spread it out? Are you one of the odd people who dont buy TV shows?

What's the word?

It really does depend on my mood. For example, Friends seasons I watch in a marathon on Saturdays. Highlander seasons I watch about four episodes per night until done. My second viewings are usually more leisurely, except for Friends. I can't help myself with that show. It relaxes me so much that I can't stop at anything less than an entire season.

For some shows, (Like the Shield) it's all about the marathon viewing, but for others, one or two a day is just fine.

it's all a mood-thang, baby. really....it all depends. I dont buy that many shows....just a few, personal favs from yesteryear. I see no reason to buy a show that has just aired or at least, a very recent show. honestly....except for 24 and a few others....I rarely watch regular tv shows. original Outer Limits, T.Z. and U.F.O, among others, are my "style" of older classics.

heres what I've done of late. I just had to watch Soap, in one sitting. it had been years since seeing an episode...and I just dove in...with a huge smile on my face. I really enjoyed myself. the T.Z. shows are spaced out. when I buy a box set of T.Z., I watch 2 to 4 episodes a night...skip a day...a few more the next day and so on. no need to overdose on all those episodes. I missed the first few seasons of 24...so now I plan on having a marathon so I can get caught up over the next few weeks. it's almost essential since I'm planning on watching all the new episodes.

it really all depends on my mood and time availability.

I watch a couple of episodes each day. Sometimes more, but only when I'm in a particular mood for that tv show.

It depends... shows like Monty Python, I Love Lucy and The Twilight Zone I'm just watching when the mood strikes since you can pretty much watch them in any order and there's not a plot thread to follow.

When I start a show like Farscape I watch 2 eps a day or every other day until I'm done (unless bloody Netflix is taking for-ev-er sending me the discs) since it's a pretty intense show that I need to remember specific plot devices for.

Then there's the super addictive shows I just cram in and neglect my movies (for a while) for- CSI, Soap, Family Guy, Futurama, X-Files, Mr. Show... etc etc. So depends on the mood and show really.

For my favorite shows I watch them all in 1 day:
X-Files
Futurama
Angel
Buffy
Family Guy

The rest I tend to space out over a few days.

Usually an episode here and there whenever I have time to kill but don't have time for a full length movie.

I have a changer and have it filled with TV related DVDs. I usually watch a single episode on each of the discs in the rotation.

For me it's almost always watch a couple episodes a day. The only exception for me has been 24 Season 1 and 2. I finished each of those in about 2 days apiece.

When school's in session I'll usually watch one disc per day. If it's a particularly light weekend I'll just keep going until I realize I have work to do. If I have a bunch of sets that I haven't watched, I'll alternate discs (disc 2 of transformers followed by disc 3 of Homicide, etc.)

I watch a movie a night and usually one or two TV episodes (depending on the length) of whatever box set I'm currently on.

My wife and I watch an episode with dinner just about every day of the week. Right now it's Soprano's. When I get home from work we eat and watch an episode. Then away I go to band practice. It's a good way of spending time together a little bit each day, while at the same time enjoying good shows! =)

By the way matome, you must have quite a collection of movies to watch one a night. Kudos!

How do you watch your TV shows?

If its a 'short' series like "Band of Brothers" or "The Thin Blue Line", I'll probably watch the whole thing in a few days. For a long series like "The Twilight Zone" or "The Outer Limits" I catch some episodes here and there.

I picked other because I like to do one disc a night if possilbe. Now a marathon like all 24 episodes of 24 in two nights or anything just like 4 or 5 episodes a night.

Usually I watch 1-5 episodes a day, depending on how interesting the series is. Next week when I'll hopefully get my hands on B5 season 3, well, let's just say that I think that the TV won't be off for a minute until I've watched all 22 episodes.

For sitcoms, I usually watch them just whenever I get to it, here and there.

For dramas that are linked (like Alias or 24), I try to watch 1-2 episodes nightly until I finish the season.

All but one of the series that I own don't have story arcs. So there is no reason to watch them in any particular order. So I just watch them as the mood strikes me especially MPFC.
