Problem with Finding Nemo: Will not play!
I put Disc 1 of Finding Nemo in, it loads, then says its playing chapter 54. However the screen is blank and no remote commands will work. I tried Daredevil and it played fine. I am gonna try disc 2 after I post this. Anyone else have this major problem?
I have a Toshiba SD-1200

Alright...Tried Disc 1 in the trusty PS2 and still didn't work. Called BVHV Tech support and they couldn't help. I'll head back to Target and exchange the DVD. BTW BVHV, of course, offered to replace the disc themselves. So...I am still trying to FIND NEMO!

I just bought it too and was dissapointed to see that the slip cover wasn't covered with plastic. So now, the Circuit City price sticker is stamped on the front and if I try to take it off it'll most likely take part of the cover off with it too. The same thing happened with Texas Chainsaw Massacre that was released a few weeks ago. It should've been wrapped like Fargo, the DVD case and the slip cover were in plastic. Maybe I'm just picky about my DVD's but I hate that..

The stickers on the case for Nemo come off extremely easily and without any muss or fuss. Including the extra UPC sticker on the back of the case.

my disc 1 has fingerprints and tiny scratches all over it. I also bought "The Honeymooners Classic 39 episodes" and two of the discs in that set were covered in lots of tiny scratches. I am so sick of this sloppy manufacturing. Same thing happened with "The Lion King" for me. That is why I dread purchasing boxsets. All it takes is one of the multi-discs to have a problem, and the whole set has to go back. I am very anxious over the upcoming 9-disc set (gulp!) of "Alien Quadrilogy." I never have these issues with music CDs. One of every ten dvds i buy usually goes back due to discs looking scratched or covered with fingerprints. I would start writing to the studios, but i'm too lazy.

Speaking of slipcases and Pixar/Disney dvds, did Monsters Inc have a slipcase? I got one without and am wondering if there ever was one.

Finding Nemo was such a great movie; even more so after learning about all the effort and dedication that went into the 3 years it took to bring it to life.

We had a problem playing the charades game. While the kids are playing it they called to me, "Daddy the game froze up." I called back "Then take it out of the computer and put it in the DVD player." "But it is in the DVD player." Sure enough the game froze on my Toshiba SD-K710. None of the buttons worked. The only thing to do was to power it off.
The movie and all of the other extras worked fine. Anyone else experience this?

That is what just happened to me and my trusty old Toshiba 210. I put the disc in and 54 came up and I couldn't stop it, skip, go to menu or anything, I had to "Open" the tray to get it to stop.
I did get it to work eventually though, what you have to do is put the disc in, then keep pressing "Stop" to prevent it from automatically loading.
The display will then read 00:00:00 , then press menu and the menu loads as normal, all you've missed out is some annoying adverts and the disc will play as normal.

I completely feel your pain. If you are buying a new disc, it should be blemish free. I just went through this with the Guns N Roses Video collection disc. The first four had a semi-circular scratch through the disc. On my last exchange, I got one that was scratch free, but had a smudge circle. I was able to rinse it off with water and use a cotton shirt to dry it off. However, I am truly sick of returning every other disc. Strangely enough, I seem to have the most problems from discs from BB. My Amazon and DDD discs don't usually have this problem. I would love to know how these discs are put into cases. Is it done by machine, or slobs eating buckets of KFC?

I had a lot of problems with Disc 1 when I tried to watch it on my Xbox. The menu would freeze up, and then unfreeze, then freeze again, and it would do the same thing once I finally got the movie to start. Eventually, it just stopped playing it all together. Then I put Disc 2 in and there were no problems at all. So I then tried out Disc 1 in my Toshiba Laptop, and it played with no problems and then I played it in my Apex AD-660 and it played with no problems.
But the Xbox didn't like it at all.
