I watched this on my RP-62... Played fine, no problems, great flick. Hope your 62 is OK, hard to replace...

This is very interesting. As I stated above, both discs play fine on my Pan. 62 player. I took the dvd to a friends house to watch in his dedicated theater (I love this room) and the scenes we were watching on disc 1 had lots of artifacts, black fades, strange color spots and similar problems.

He has a 9", three color projector and a Proceed DVD player. It wasn't until the way home that i remembered this thread.

Hmmm.

I had the chapter 54 problem when I loaded disc 1 on my Pioneer 3-disc player but was finally able to get past it after hitting several buttons on the remote (stop, next track, etc). Am not sure what actually got it going. Viewing wide screen was fine until chapter 24 when the screen and sound became blocked and choppy, so I switched to disc 2 and finished the movie in full screen with no problems. That same disc 1 loaded without issue on my Panasonic DVD/VCR, but I have not tried to view the entire wide screen version on it, so I don't know if chapter 24 will present a problem there.
No revelations or solutions, but I was compelled to add my two cents to this discussion.
