Anyone else remember Starcade from the 80's?

Well, you'll be happy to know that Starcade is being released on DVD! Here are the details. . . .

From Starcade.tv

Make your reservation now for the first Starcade! DVD Collection of 5 original Starcade! episodes. Relive the best of the '80's with Starcade!

Order before November 30 and we'll include a replica of the original Starcade! T-shirt (your size - man or woman's style) and 3 Starcade! weepuls (put them anywhere with their sticky little feet) and, of course, the Starcade! DVD Collection #1.

All this for ONLY $39.95 plus shipping and any applicable tax.

Buy a second DVD package for a friend and take 10% off ... 2nd package only $35.95.

As a bonus, if you reserve your Starcade! DVD now and complete your order, you can take 10% off ANY of your purchases in the Starcade! store at ANY time in the future.

Don't miss this chance to be one of the first to start your Starcade! collection!

You will not be charged anything for making a reservation AND we will not charge you at all until your order is on its way to your home.
Yikes! 40 bucks?!? Even with the T-Shirt, that's still WAY too much than I'm willing to pony up. Yeah I know it's a nitch market - a VERY nitch market, but there has to be a way to slash the price. There better be all kinds of extras packed on that disc to make it worth that knid of bread. . . .

I had a ton of the episodes on my hard drive until it crashed. Too bad I didn't have my DVD bunrner then.

That show was comedy gold.

Everyone probably knows this, but it is still shown on G-4. I still want to look up a contestant on yahoo people search one day, call them, and say, "Man, you blew it on Dig-Dug."

I need to do that...

That price is quite steep, especially since G4 shows several episodes a day.

Fun show though.

*chuckle* No.

This is a show from the early 80s where people would play video games in order to win prizes.

There's an epsiode of Starcade on the Dragon's Lair Boxed Set.
It was so painful, I can't believe anyone would seriously consider ponying up money for a DVD of the show.

From a nostalgic point of view it can be entertaining. But it is certainly dated...way dated. I always found the show frustrating because the contestants never got very far in the game. It got really tired seeing the first two screens of every game...
