You get a FULLSCREEN DVD as a gift. What would you do?
I just had my birthday this week and a really hot woman bought me a FULLSCREEN DVD. Now, it was good that it was a movie that I don't have or have never seen. But, I have a certain aversion to fullscreen DVDs (as well as many do here).
She's so HOT that's I'm just going to bite the dust and keep it and watch it.
What would you do in my shoes? Post your stories here.

IF it works out AND you want a long-lasting relationship, you'll have to keep it for the duration. "Honey, I'll do anything for you because I love you"
If things don't work out, make sure it's in her bag that will accompany her on her way out the door. "Yeah? Well, not only do you have a fat ass.... but YOU LIKE FULLSCREEN"

And somewhere down the line, maybe we can have that talk about OAR with her (she's a HUGE movie fanatic though not well-versed in the details like OAR).
We're just friends for now but I definitely want to see something deeper and TomOpus knows what I mean.

Have sex with her.
Then exchange it.

I just realized that it was a pre-viewed DVD from Blockbuster. So there was no way to get the widescreen version, even if I returned it.

Sell it, and buy the widescreen copy. Scuff the edges a bit to make it look used.

Pre-viewed? Well, several comments come to mind now, but as this isn't the mature area, I'll just let it go.
What shocked me was that my wife bought me a fullscreen disc a couple years ago for Christmas. She knew I prefered widescreen, but didn't pay attention because she didn't realize there were two versions. Fair enough. So I took it back and fixed the problem and she actually got her feelings hurt (or was just teasing me and I fell for it). Although I'm married, so for me the order was A) Exchange it. There was no step B.

If you want to have a lasting relationship, at some point your feelings on this important issue must be made known.
This could be just the opportunity to do so (assuming she didn't pick it up accidentally, but that's another issue). If she doesn't know, it could lead to more fullscreen DVD gifts in your future and this thing has to be nipped in the bud. On the other hand, you don't want to hurt her feelings, or have her to think you don't appreciate it or anything.
I would just keep it, BUT I would try to arrange an opportunity to subtly let her know how you feel, like go shopping with her, or run into her somewhere where they sell DVD's and say something like, "I wonder why they have so many fullscreen. If people only knew how much better widescreen was, surely they would choose that, right? Okay, I found what I want. Lets go...er, wait a minute. I accidentally picked up the fullscreen version. You know, they make it so easy to pick up the wrong one." (That last part is to let her know how easy it can be to pick up the wrong one so she doesn't feel stupid for accidentally getting you the fullscreen version, if indeed it was accidental.)

Too tell you the truth, I don't think she even knew that she bought me the fullscreen version. Since she also bought it pre-viewed at Blockbuster, she wouldn't even have that choice.

It's a gift. Just accept it as somebody trying to do something nice.
Was this a movie that you really wanted to get on DVD? If not, I don't see what the big deal is. Now if it was something that was like your favorite movie and/or something you consider a must have DVD then that would be differant. Since this movie has been out for a while I would think that it wasn't something very high on your list.
What you should do is now invite her over to your place to watch the movie. Seems like a perfect chance for a nice evening. Take advantage of it.

Yeah, just exchange it. Chances are they didn't know if they picked up a fullscreen or widescreen anyways, all they know is they bought you the movie probably. Exchange it for widescreen and watch it with her later.

Dance with joy!
