B'oh! accidently bought full-screen instead of wide-screen...

Bring it back and say its defective. Bestbuy only returns defective discs. They will say get another one. This time grab the widescreen version. Should work.

I actually pulled that trick to exchange my old The Shining disc for the newer, restored one.

OMG!!!!
It's spelled lying, not lieing!!!!!!!!

And BTW Best Buy has never questioned me about returning pan & scan for widescreen copies of fully opened DVDs, even without the insert!!!!!!

I have never had a problem exchanging at Best Buy. They generally don't care as long as one does not ask for one's money back.

It happened to me twice at Best Buy - Die Another Day and The Matrix Reloaded. The former, I opened completely before realizing what I'd bought. As for the latter, I only managed to remove all the security stickers but one. Best Buy exchanged both of them for me with no lying required.
