Hi all. Just a quick question for all you DVD gurus out there. Since my quest to retreive "Aliens" on DVD has reached a snap due to it being out of production (if anyone has news when FOX will rerelease I would appreciate it), I have a question. Recently on a trip to a flea market to get plants for the yard, I stumbled across a stall selling DVDs. All of these DVDs looked legit, but were marked Region ALL instead of Region 1 (US). The reason I ask is because the person had Aliens Special Edition but it was in ALL region format. Is this legit and if it is, will it play in a standard region 1 DVD player?

Most of them were probably bootlegs.

Major studios are reluctant to release region free DVDs. Some do, but it's not all that often.

if it is region 0 (or ALL) it will play on your "regular" player.

Not all region 0 dvds are bootlegs though this one sounds like a boot. I would skip it.
