Dissapointed in christmas releases?

I dont know about you guys, but I sure am. There isnt anything big or anything really good coming out xmas time. Of course lotr tt box is, but thats just one. I was kinda expecting a little more to look forward to this holiday season. And I was expecting freddy vs. jason to make the cut but it didnt!

honestly to me it isnt. I have seen those films at least 40 times each in my whole life and i feel no purpose on buying it when they are played out for me. But good point, i forgot about that.

Historically, November is the biggest month for DVD releases, followed closely by October. December has a few big titles, but is disappointing compared to the previous two months. (I think the lack of titles in December is what nickmondo1 is let down by.)

This year isn't any different, but Paramount arguably switched October and November's positions by moving the IJ set up.

December is always light on bigtime releases. Same with music CDs. I guess the logic is that most shoppers start holiday buying in November, and may not have the cash to fork over in early to mid-December for more product (especially box sets, which are higher priced than single discs).

I think the DVD release this year is pretty spectacular, in my opinion:

October: "Ultimate Vacation Collection," "Matrix Reloaded," "Indiana Jones Trilogy," "Looney Tunes Golden Collection."

November: "Finding Nemo," "Honeymooners Complete Collection," "Pumping Iron," "Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume 4," "Terminator 3," "La Strada," "Naked Lunch," "LOTR: TTT Extended Edition," "Once Upon a Time in the West."

December: "Alien Quadrilogy Box Set"

I know there are lots of others. But those mentioned are the ones that are immediately appealing to me. No, I am not at all disappointed in this holiday lineup. Any more and I would have to cash in my 401K account.

I like my December:
To live and die in L.A. Darling and the latest Woody Allen for Christmas Eve. And I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of other interesting stuff.

I don't care much for extra features so I will happily keep watching the version I already have. I just noticed that I have quite a few John Carpenter DVDs - 5 to be exact. Do you have alot of his stuff BlackBeauty92?

It's usually a harvest of releases in November, so maybe December releases are purposely a tad on the thin side so you'll get your butts into theaters.

No Goodfellas SE, No Schindler's List. I was gonna post how this will be a disappointing Christmas. The only one I really can't wait to get my hands on is Bad Boys 2.

City of God is coming in December, so that title alone makes this a great Christmas for DVDs.

Can't wait.

I can't believe how many good DVDs are coming out in the next few weeks... it just totally blows my mind... really, I have about $1000 worth of stuff...in the next 3 weeks ALONE!!!! I am certainly not even CLOSE to disappointed in the releases slated for the Christmas season.
