Still, though, not a good thing to start doing Universal! And I know this will bug some people as well, but there was no insert! Now, it is possible that I got a copy that was missing one, so I won't jump to any conclusions on this.
Can't you hit the Menu button to skip all of the Promos and go right to the main menu screen?

Nope, the only thing I could do was fast forward, just like VHS tapes of yore. This may be something that differs from machine to machine, though. I have a Panasonic F85K, BTW.

This is what Universal did with their Breakfast Club/Sixteen Candles/Weird Science discs. I don't think Three O'Clock High had it though. It sucks but there's a million things I can do while a disc starts up. And, yeah, you CAN scan past it but not chapter skip it or you can't hit menu like the Disney discs.

I can't blame him for complaining, as Universal didn't just "start" this. 2 Fast 2 Furious and Animal House have forced trailers, and I have heard that several others do to. They could at least have a "Trailer" or "Main Menu" option as Paramount does. As is, this IS NOT impressive. At least they didn't do it to Scarface.

Oh, forced promo's, like they did in:
The Mummy Returns
?

I thought that to be quite annoying. To push 'play' on the menu and then there's these commercials or something, and then yet another interruption, with 'The Rock' saying how glad he was we decided to buy the movie or some crap. Bah.

It is immensely irritating that they would disable the skip feature for these ads. I know some players are immune but most it's just another hassle that gets in the way of enjoying a movie. I find it very disrespectful to the consumer.
